Actually is was drought that caused the reduction of beef herds, we are still working thru that.And the same or similar was said when Russia/Ukraine war escalated in 2022, at least about the availability and costs of fertilizers. Which then impacted crops and livestock feed, that cattle ranchers had to cull many of their herds.......which drove up the cost of beef because it can take 4 to 6 years or more to recover the herds and supply the market.
But you are correct about global fertilizer shortages affecting the availability and price of crops.
We should be well past the Hormuz strait being closed by the end of 2026, oil and gas and fertilizer should be much cheaper in 2028.IOW, regardless of who is in office by 28, the cost and availability of food supply will go up even further
