Trump reign starting to go sour

We saw in November what voters thought of Joe Biden's inflation and grocery prices, the ultimate "survey".

We sure did, and a lot of those voters are about to get educated on how an economy works - or in Trump's case, how it doesn't work. They're gonna learn about tariffs, supply chains, inflation, l'aissez faire boom-to-bust economies, and ultimately, economic depressions.

It is true that tariffs have unintended consequences. For instance one of the plants here uses raw material from Canada. If a 25% tariff is imposed the product's selling price or the profit margin, will be affected. Trump will decide this weekend if the tariffs get imposed or not, or if Canada and/or Mexico can avoid them with promises to do what Trump wants.

There won't be an economic depression, there is nothing on the horizon but lower Fed rates. Also, cost-cutting in Congress should have a good effect on the US dollar and the stock market. Not sure what "bad things" other than tariffs we need to worry about.

On top of is which his failing policies will further alienate people. He promised big but all he can deliver is cruelty and chaos.

Vulnerable GOP reps may find a spine.
Nope, the die hard maga in fact is hoping for a coup. The dems that crossed over and many independents have soured on him, which in the end does not make it good in the years to come for the pugs cheering him on.

And this methodology differs from previous surveys...how?

Dude, face it, MAGA Jesus is tanking consumer confidence, and no, CEO confidence isn't as important as consumer confidence. One is more important than the other. CEO confidence is high because they like MAGA's deregulatory stance, and they trust that he will eventually wise up and work out a deal with our trading partners.
"Dude" - you watch too much left media who are doing the exact same thing they did last Presidency - negative-negative-negative. And you swallow it down like a crack whore on a 3 day meth drought.

Yeah, how's MAGA's fight to stop inflation goin?

If they are serious about cutting government and the debt, we should see some results in a few months.

". . . Take the crowding-out effect. When the federal government borrows heavily, it competes with the private sector for limited financial resources, driving up interest rates. Between January 2022 and January 2025, for example, the prime bank loan rate doubled from 3.25 percent to 7.5 percent. As loans become more expensive, startups delay expansions, businesses scale back hiring, and innovation suffers. As one business owner noted in 2024, “We are a new business and our loans closed when the rates were at an all-time high … so that has increased our monthly expenses dramatically.”

The result is a less productive economy, lower wages, and reduced competitiveness. Cutting spending reduces this crowding-out effect by freeing up resources for private-sector investment, creating jobs, and boosting incomes.

<snip>

". . . Voter frustration with inflation underscores the importance of Republicans taking spending cuts seriously. Americans know that excessive government spending over the pandemic was a key driver of inflation, and they voted Democrats out of office. This same voter backlash to spending-driven inflation could occur again come mid-term elections in 2026 should reckless deficit spending continue unabated.

With Republicans crafting a reconciliation bill (or multiple) addressing tax cuts, border security, and the debt ceiling, they have a unique opportunity to rein in inflation, shrink the federal bureaucracy, and reduce government spending, especially on health care and other entitlements. Pairing tax reform with significant spending cuts is not only fiscally responsible but critical to a pro-growth agenda. . .

IF, OTH, they are serious about giving those savings back to the taxpayers? meh.

More people trust CNN than, um, we can’t think of anyone right now

Trump backed down when the stock market crashed that Monday. Mexico and Canada basically agreed to do what they were already doing and Trump said “what a win!”. lol. You guys crack me up. Ive never been in a cult but it looks fun.
And what happened to the stock market AFTER Monday, Gator?

My point was the stock market hated the tariffs so he backed them off. It bounced back when he backed off them. Lots of bad economic since has the markets skiddish.

Trump has barely been on the job for 4 weeks and desperate Democrats are running all over the place declaring his presidency a failure. Why? Because they are lying shits who have no ideas, solutions or an ounce of shame obviously.

It's clear to me that Democrats want us to HATE them.

Thanks for your input from Wales, Tommy Taint.

I think relying on conservative reps to do the moral thing is a risky game.
But Trumps popularity is tanking and there is no improvment in the economy. Most of his performative stuff seems mired in the courts.
He is running out of time to make a difference.
No, Tommy, Democrat's popularity is tanking. You can't seem to stop spewing leftist propaganda.
