Trump prepares EO to close down the unconstitutional federal department of education

That's because I hold a mirror up to stupid people and they don't like what they see in themselves.

So they feel compelled to strike out.

I doubt Elon, Trump and Bezos need to save any money personally but I am cheering them on trying to save all of us taxpayers billions and trillions of $. Elon and Bezos receive no compensation for whatever their efforts and I doubt President Trump is keeping his presidential salary either. He donated it all back to the government in his first term.
That's just it. Those savings won't go to you. They'll go to corporations, and Elon.

Let me know when those savings get passed on to you and me.

Or, will cuts to your social security and medicare save Elon and Bezos money?

I noticed this in the 2000's. Whenever GW Bush said Americans, he meant rich Americans. If he said rich Americans, his speeches were sincere. But he was talking to all of us. But this was a way for him to not lie. As a Christian, he didn't want to lie. So his speeches weren't lies. He just omitted the word RICH. Do you remember the Bush tax breaks? Of course not because you aren't rich. Bush said he was going to return the Clinton surplus to Americans. It's their money and he's giving it back. Did he lie? No. He gave it back, to rich people. You got squanch.

Show your evidence for how Musk, Bezos or Trump will benefit personally in any way from the savings other than appreciation by the common sense American public. Otherwise you are just talking propaganda nonsense.

You're kidding right? They're not getting tax breaks?

Trump, Musk and Bezos get no tax breaks that are not available for every American who does what he/she needs to do to qualify.

Your quarrel is not with those who benefit from the tax code but the tax code itself. Feel free to lobby government to remove all benefits of any kind to billionaires.

But a word of advice: if you succeed, be prepared to take a significant hit in your pocket book because all of us prosper more and enjoy greater quality of life because there are rich people. And if those people have increased incentive to move their operations overseas, that will negatively affect many or most small businesses, cost hundreds of thousands if not millions of American jobs.

You cannot punish the wealthy who legitimately earned their wealth without hurting the less wealthy much more.

But this thread is about abolishing the Dept. of Education. Please tell me how that will significantly personally benefit Trump, Musk or Bezos more than it will all Americans.

You're too blind to see the tax system is corrupt. Or you know it's wrong, but you can't get yourself to right the ship. Lower our taxes, we buy things. They prosper. They don't need the tax breaks. We do. They gave the rich tax breaks they can take them back. But taking them back is very difficult. The rich will cry. Not as loud as you will cry for them, but they'll cry.

Don't worry about it. The rich own our government. Supreme Court and all. Did you hear the recent ruling by them? They can accept gifts after they rule on something. Just not before. WOW. So corrupt.

But hey, I'm not only surviving it, I'm thriving. So **** it. I go with the flow. You guys pushed NAFTA on me, I rolled with it. You turned Michigan into a right to work state, I rolled with it. I'll survive Trumpanomics 2.0. I survived Reagan, Bush, Bush and Trump 1.0. didn't I?

You no doubt voted for most of the people who put that tax system in place. You seem to be one of those who haven't objected when that tax system is corrupted unless it benefits somebody you don't like politically.

And you obviously didn't read what I wrote.

Again how will abolishing the Dept of Education benefit Trump, Musk and/or Bezos personally any more than it benefits any of the rest of us?

Rich people want tax breaks. In fact they want their corporations to pay no taxes. They argue that they just pass it on to consumers. We argue that they use our government more than citizens do and they need to pay taxes. So there's no doubt Republicans want to move the US that way. Corporations pay no taxes. Rich people pay no taxes. They argue, they won't hire as many people or give raises if you tax them. And don't tax them when they die. That used to be a good idea. Tax people who have more than $20 million dollars a death tax.

Anyways, long story short. The more cuts, the more justification Elon has for cutting corporate taxes. This is a fundamental shift of wealth dude. OMG, I don't even know where to begin to explain. If you don't already know, **** it. Just hang on and good luck.

Like I said, I'm 54. Either I eat up my $1 million plus when I retire or I don't. Seems like either way I'll be living off $50K a year plus social security. Whatever ss and medicare are worth after Trump gets done with them. Dr. Oz. LOL

And my nephews for sure will inherit $5 million at least. That's on top of whatever they save for the next 35 years. That's if my bro lives till he's 95, which he won't, and my nephews work till they are 65. Bottom line is my ancestors and me are in a good place for when the middle wakes up and realize they made a horrible mistake. And I'll be there to say I told you so. And don't cry to me.

So far nothing Republicans have done have negatively affected me. I'll let you know when they do.

Cut the obvious wasteful government spending and taxes should be reduced

Well good for you. But so far you get the trophy for the most non sequitur post of the day. But have a great afternoon.

…. And try to hide that from taxpayers.

Bingo!

I'm still waiting for someone to post, where in the Constitution has Congress been granted a power to tax and spend for State public school systems? I find no such authorization beneath Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1, for which Congress is granted power to lay and collect taxes.

15th post
Illogical, as each of these have been interpreted over the years with restrictions and limitations added.

The 2nd Amendment was to allow people to keep and bear arms, but we have implemented several regulations over the years that subvert that right to some extent based on the weapons available today.

The 1st Amendment states ”Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech.” Freedom of speech was not limited in any way or explained in the Bill of Rights. Since that time, many limitations on the freedom of speech have been passed. In the early 20th century, for example, defamation, plagiarism, etc., are not protected.

I have no idea what your point about the 3rd Amendment is.

My point is that in the case of the 14th, further clarification is needed. Clearly, “illegal alien” wasn’t a thing back then. Yes, it needs to be revisited. The last time was was in 1798. Circumstances have changed significantly in the last 200+ years and problems not envisioned by the authors have arisen.

Well done, you just shown that what you said it also illogical.

The Constitution has the amendment process, why? Because the Founders knew that things would change and wanted the US to be able to move into the future. The problem is, the Constitution has petrified the US govt, it's incapable of moving forward, so it barely functions around a Constitution fit for the 18th century.

The money is secondary. We will return the focus of education to academics - rather than all the woke nonsense - and prepare the next generation to lead our country forward and contribute positively to society.

I used to think my grandmother was uneducated because she only completed 8th grade (common for poor folks in 1920), but in reality, she had more knowledge than today’s average college graduate.

Sometimes it took me twenty years to figure out that my Mother had been right, and I had been wrong.

She had only an eighth grade education, while I had BA and MBA. But look, the Unabomber was a professor at UC Berkeley and a genius. So he moved to a rathole cabin in Montana and sent package bombs to kill people, like any good enviro-freak/atheist.
No connection between wisdom and education.

I graduated before they turned so bad. The majors who scored lowest on their SAT exams, on average, were sociology, followed by education.
