Trump may have already changed his mind after today's market carnage.

So crash the economy,crash

That hasn't happened.

The latest jobs report overperformed.

the stock market, and **** up the bond market to do what?

The stock market is not the economy, and it will be back.

You really need to calm down.

This hyper-emotional reactive stance cannot be good for your health.

My prescription: Less mainstream news.

If successful, this policy will:

  • Reshore U.S. production jobs;
  • Encourage foreign direct investment into real industry;
  • Lower long-term interest rates to reduce debt costs;
  • Shift the economy from financial engineering back to tangible production;
  • Realign the value of the U.S. dollar to support exports.
🚨 Buried Lede: Trump’s true economic revolution isn’t just tariffs—it’s a bid to de-financialize the U.S. economy, cut Wall Street’s grip, and refocus on real industrial growth. The bond market, not the trade deficit, may be the real target.

Hhhhhmm.

Sounds to me like what the Democrats had been talking about not all that long ago.

Will it work is a whole other question, but the innate goals have been bandied about on the left side of the political spectrum for a long time.

So maybe a little less pearl clutching, and a little more sober thinking is in order here.

You set the ******* house on fire and now you’re saying… don’t put it out. Let it burn out and we’ll see how bad it was.

All because you don’t like the color it was painted..

NOOOOO

You mean what you guys have been doing for decades?

but...I'm not hanging myself, that's the problem. You came in suggesting that apparently tariffs work differently in other countries, I asked you to explain how...then you started talking about rope.

🤷‍♂️
Where is our tariff lesson buddy?

Nope. Didn’t say they work differently.

My question was who pays for them in EACH country

You seem not to know

I gave you an answer...ultimately, the consumer

I gave you an answer...ultimately, the consumer
The consumer in each country

You tried to make it sound like it was the American consumer in both cases.

That would have been a stupid assertion correct?

You...didn't read what I posted? I told you that I didn't know and if you did, to tell us. You declined to post the answer. I told you it was paid, ultimately, by the consumer.

So, I'm not sure what you are waiting on?

No I didnt..where did you get that?

A tariff is a tariff .. you said that.

Glad you understand that the American taxpayer is not paying for tariffs imposed on our goods exported to other countries… but we are paying on the goods imported here and tariffed by Trump

My 401k dropped a couple grand. Go look at yours
401k’s are not to be followed daily. They are long term barometers

What you or I may have lost this quarter, we could gain back next quarter.

You’re proving you don’t understand economics…

Unless of course the opposing countries come to the bargaining table and lower their tariffs after having been induced by our initial move.

And 50 countries have already begun talks.

Vietnam (and yes - we get A LOT from them) have already lowered their tariffs to zero.

Taiwan have as well.

Let's be honest, you're not critically thinking this through - or weighing pros and cons like a thoughtful objective person.

You're just playing team politics and reacting badly to Trump because he lives rent free in your head.

It's so crazy how you people can never just come to grips with that sad fact.

The throes of mental illness are difficult to escape I suppose...

This was always a giant negotiation tactic….

I hope you're right.

It would fit in with "Art of the Deal".

I have read some right leaning news sources that claim Peter Navarro and others are urging Trump to keep the tariffs permanent, while others like Scott Bessent are advising him to drop them once concessions are made.

I truly hope it's the latter.

I think he will.

Just look back on when Canada, and Mexico caved a little, he paused to see if they were serious…

If countries start being fair, Trump will too.

"aides"? :auiqs.jpg:
That's like "anonymous sources" :laughing0301:

That's what both US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trump's trade advisor Peter Navarro said. I guess it's time to leave reality. :lol:
