Trump pledged to eliminate the deficit and reduce our national debt if elected. Instead, he has accumulated debt at a record pace. Doesn’t even include his recent borrowing of $2.2 trillion

Bush 43: $.725 trillion

Obama: $ 1.075 trillion

Trump: $1.2 trillion

Donald Trump: Trump plans to add $4.832 trillion to the debt in his first term.8 That's a 24% increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. If he remains in office for a second term, he plans to add $8.3 trillion for both terms. Trump had promised to eliminate the debt during his campaign.

Barack Obama: Added $8.588 trillion, a 74% increase from the $11.657 trillion debt at the end of Bush’s last budget, FY 2009.

  • FY 2017 - $671 billion
  • FY 2016 - $1.423 trillion
  • FY 2015 - $327 billion
  • FY 2014 - $1.086 trillion
  • FY 2013 - $672 billion
  • FY 2012 - $1.276 trillion
  • FY 2011 - $1.229 trillion
  • FY 2010 - $1.652 trillion
  • FY 2009 - $253 billion. Congress passed the Economic Stimulus Act, which spent $253 billion in FY 2009.9 This rare occurrence should be added to President Obama's contribution to the debt.

George W. Bush: Added $5.849 trillion, a 101% increase from the $5.8 trillion debt at the end of Clinton's last budget, FY 2001.

  • FY 2009 - $1.632 trillion. This was Bush's deficit without the impact of the Economic Stimulus Act.
  • FY 2008 - $1.017 trillion
  • FY 2007 - $501 billion
  • FY 2006 - $574 billion
  • FY 2005 - $554 billion
  • FY 2004 - $596 billion
  • FY 2003 - $555 billion
  • FY 2002 - $421 billion

Correct. He was on track to eclipse indebtedness of the Obama Administration even before this crisis started.

Much of our debt is interagency.

I don't believe I have ever "paid myself back" any of my money that I've ever spent.

Grok?

Deceptive. The first year's budget of any incoming President was always owned by the preceding President. So President can't be held accountable for the debt during his first year in office.

Nice try though.

Another dumb partisan attack when other presidents are EQUALLY guilty of increasing the debt:

Barack Obama: Added $8.588 trillion, a 74% increase

George W. Bush: Added $5.849 trillion, a 101% increase

Donald Trump: Trump plans to add $4.832 trillion to the debt in his first term.8 That's a 24% increase

The real problem is the ENTITTLEMENTS in the budget that are beyond control of the White House. The Congress are the main culprits on why we have huge budget deficits in the first place. It was the democrats who created the built in budget debt problem, when they created S.S, Medicare, Medic aid, and other mandated "social programs". Presidents didn't create them, but democrat presidents signed them into law.

Stop pushing the Partisan attacks, ritewinger!

That's why its called a crises....but you know that...you are just gas lighting your ass off.....when this is over the people will thank the president...mark my words....
It's "crisis".

And he happily signed the massive spending bill (and applauded himself for it), LONG BEFORE the crisis.

I know talk radio doesn't cover that, but it's true.

It will be just fine when Bernie Sanders win this November...

Oh, never trust a guy that has bankrupted his companies and his spreadsheet is in the red to balance any budget...

Now with that written just ask your Chinese handlers to pay us back for crashing our economy...

Saying "Obama: Added $8.588 trillion" does not take in to account how much of that amount was due to factors out of his control, like inheriting a deep recession. One we could have recovered faster from if not for Repub sabotage.

A spending bill he was able to get passed Pelosi and get her signature on it.....we have a congress....and they hold the check book....we had to rebuild our military after the wasted Obama years and we just had to restock our pandemic supplies left empty by Obama after his pandemic.....the cupboards were left bare in all categories by the magic Kenyan....
Socialism was an expensive venture....I hope we never try that again...

If you want the budget balanced then people will have to suffer and we all live within our means. Are you down with that?

What Mac is upset about is he signed it and did not shove granny, grandpa, mom, dad and children off the cliff and vetoing the bill.

Imagine had Trump not done it how Mac would be howling how Trump hate the working Joe...

He inherited the recovery. What are you talking about? LMAO!

You're so stupid.

U.S. recession, officially lasting from December 2007 to June 2009. When Did Obama take Office?

Do your own math.
