Trump is right—Iran has no cards

Ask Pakistan. The not only have enriched uranium, but ready A-bombs.
Is Pakistan a "state sponsor of terrorism"?

Pakistan had to have A-bombs because India had them.

Similarly, if Iran gets A-bombs all the Gulf states will need to get them.

You lay out a good case for just invading Iran and annexing it as a US territory.
Most Americans understand that the Pearl Harbor-Style Surprise Attack on Iran about which Trump boasted failed to achieve its purported objectives. (Trump may not be aware how it worked out for the Empire of Japan.)

Trump's "Little Caprice" was, obviously, a far greater challenge than he imagined. Despite his simplistic fantasies, it has dragged on for over two months, and has cost each and every American taxpayer $475 so far (not including paying bloated gas prices and other inflationary costs) and has no end in sight.

Most Americans acknowledge that his egregious blunder was a monumental mistake, failed to achieve its alleged objectives, and has instigated dire consequences for the global economy - as was foreseen by knowledgable people.

Some have suggested that Trump's goons who attacked outnumbered police at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 (a stain on democracy that the degenerate instigator watched for hours) might express their enthusiasm for Middle Eastern wars by replacing the United States military.

Privatize!

Trump's objective is the same as Obama's was, that being to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Obama tried the "diplomatic" route with the JCPOA and even rewarded Iran for their promise not to enrich uranium by gifting them $56,000,000,000, which Iran promptly used to enrich uranium. Trump's blockade of Iran's oil is the winning move. without money Iran is a failed state. Most Americans agree that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons and ICBMs.

January 6th was Pelosi's fault, she takes responsibility for denying the requests for the National Guard.

Your distorted, hyper-partisan version of the international agreement that had succeeded in stopping Iran from developing a nuclear weapon for years that Trump abandoned aside, Iran, despite Trump contriving yet another forever war in the Middle East, still has the same nuclear weapon development capability despite Trump's squandering tens of billions of dollars of taxpayer money (thus far) and wreaking havoc with the international economy.

Trump had unilaterally withdrawn from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2018, leading directly to his current mess.

Trump's usual pattern of trying to blame others for his messes is not working.

Most Americans, by a growing margin, disapprove:

The JCPOA would have expired in 2026 allowing Iran to develop nukes and ICBMs.

Trump said no nukes, ever, period. Your distorted hyper-partisan view ignores the real danger a nuclear Iran poses.

Since under JCPOA the inspectors were restricted to sites Iran designated, there really is no way to know what Iran was doing elsewhere, and since Fordow and Natanz were built in secret in violation of NPT, there is no reason to assume Iran was not carrying on violations of JCPOA.

What we do know is this: Obama entered the negotiations with the same position as President Trump now presents, and after two years of negotiations came back supporting the ayatollahs' position.

The only way the basic tenet of JCPOA, inspections while allowing enrichment activities, could work would be if the inspectors could inspect anywhere they liked without notice to the ayatollahs, but this would have been unacceptable to any country, so there was never any way to verify the ayatollahs were not preparing to enrich uranium to weapons grade as long as Iran was able to enrich uranium.

That was the position with which Obama began negotiation

There is no rational basis for claiming JCPOA stopped the ayatollahs from pursuing nuclear weapons since the inspectors could only inspect sites the ayatollahs had approved.

Obama even acknowledged his failure in those negotiations when he said, "Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good," meaning that his original position, which was the same as President Trump's is now, was perfect, but he wasn't telling the truth about JCPOA being good, since the ayatollahs would only allow the inspectors to inspect sites the ayatollahs had designated as nuclear sites.

Trump's obscenely-expensive "little excursion" has been a disaster with no end in sight, failing to overthrow the regime, and leaving it in possession of its nuclear materials.

Most folks know that,

True. Despite the bungler's inevitable blatant lie,
his disastrous "little excursion" will obviously have adverse consequences, nationally and internationally, into the future for who-knows-how-long.

The only aspect to be determined is how many he will try to blame for his fiasco.

Deal with getting a non-nuclear deal when all the Iranians who were in power are dead.

Its been 2-months. When the war is over you can let us know the outcome, not before the war is over.

The bombing has stopped, we're in a "ceasefire", there are 14,000 targets destroyed. That is a "victory".

If you're okay with Iran having nukes and ICBMs that is your opinion, but many of us consider that an unacceptable risk, and want Iran's enriched uranium out of Iran.

So you are saying you are not among the people who are smart enough to understand the operation is not over.

There is an unmistakable aura of finality in braying "Victory!", it's true, but the current, sorry plight will obviously persist indefinitely.

My friend reminded me that to Trumps credit, he correctly said that, “if you vote for Kamala, you’re going to get $4, 5, 6, 7 gas and a war with Iran”. My friend voted for Kamala
Oh, wow, I didn't think I would ever run into someone who would admit to voting for her. That's amazing.

So are you reading tea leaves, throwing Tarot cands or working on your ouija board?
