You guys seizing on any sort of absolution for the fucked-up way Trump is handling this mess is revealing.
This is the democrats fiasco, Trump has been trying to do something about this crises for over two years. Just a couple months ago Pelosi and Schumer were saying Trump was lying when Trump called what's going on at the border. Now they say it's a crisis. This is their doings. Pelosi and Schumer have been in government over 20 years ,Trump for a couple of years and he has already did more than them at the border.
That's just simply NOT TRUE!
Democrats have always said it was a Humanitarian Crisis.
The President CLAIMED it was a National Emergency, after both parties, in both the Senate and the House of Representatives created a bi partisan bill to fund and reopen the government that was shut down by Trump, AND to fund the humanitarian crisis at the border, but did not give him funding for the border wall.
By Trump claiming it was a National Emergency, it would give some power allotted to the President by congress, to move funds to take care of the Emergency, if congress was not in session or could not do the emergency funding themselves in a National Emergency and some extra powers perhaps to take our land away expeditiously and break EPA laws etc.... so Trump thinks....
This legislation when done years back, was for a REAL National Emergency, like everyone from congress was back in home states, and a tidal wave tsunami hit the East Coast near D.C. and money was needed immediately to help our citizens, kind of thing.... then the President could fund it, even though the constitution says that all appropriations of funding comes from the House.
President Trump was trying to work his way around the constitution, which gives all spending power to the congress... the case lead to a few lawsuits and is in the courts now... probably working its way to the Supreme court.
It is a humanitarian crisis at the border... and the Administration needs to get a handle on that.... like in YESTERDAY! He needs to rethink and change all of these new policies of his that are making the situation worse... and costing us a bundle of tax payer money, a lot of it going to his connections and Friends running the private detention centers....(John Kelly, ex chief of staff I heard, is one of them) getting paid as much as $780 A DAY, PER CHILD in them.
