Trump in Iowa: I wouldn’t support a Covid shutdown.

There's no evidence of that, particularly since most of the actions taken by the Democrats have since shown to be useless.
There is and you have lied. Hillary had policy experience and her top advisor was not a Slovakian model, it was a former president. That would have helped her greatly.

"No, I didn't actually have a shut down," he says in the video and that is technically true, but he lies when he claims to be a federalist and thus, supported Republican governors who didn't shut down. Arguably, Trump couldn't have authorized or enforced a nationwide shut down whether he wanted to or not, but he definitely criticized and threatened those who did not and those who he felt opened back up too early.

This is yet another entry on a long list of lies, waffling, and taking positions in direct conflict with the beliefs of his supporters. At this point, I think MAGA needs to just come out and admit that there is literally nothing this man can do that will get them to stop supporting him.

Here are a few things I have been thinking lately:

While Trump was president, dems wanted to and actually did lock down the country. Under Biden they don't, not even with Covid spreading again. Then dems blamed Trump for the slumping economy and inflation.

While Trump was president, dems forced people to wear masks and get vaccines, coming up with vaccination cards you must show so you don't get fired from your jobs and to be used in order to go out in public. Under Biden this is not required, even though Covid is spreading again.

While Trump was president, he started operation warp speed in order to get the vaccine quicker. Dems told all Americans not to trust the rushed Trump vaccine. As soon as Biden became president, the vaccine wasn't rushed anymore and everyone was encourage to get the vaccine, or be fired from your jobs and not allowed out in public. Under Biden, even though Covid is spreading again, vaccines are not mandatory.

Dems now say that Covid is not as severe anymore because many Americans have been vaccinated, even though they were vaccinated with the TRUMP vaccine.

And MASKS!!!!
There's still people at my job wearing them with their noses sticking out.
It's all so incredibly STUPID!!!
I tend to agree and sat next to one on a flight back from DC recently.

He started talking to me and it turned out he had lung cancer and was on his way to a specialist.

Again, while I agree people masking seems stupid, and the majority likely are, you just don't know everyone's particular case.

Would any president have handled it well? It seemed like, in the US especially, it was a poisoned chalice.
Who know? I am not very good at revised history based on people never elected to that office. It is a type of fantasy game at best, and pretty much a waste of time.

Three liberal states had the highest number of nursing home deaths from Covid: Massachusetts (1,205), New Jersey (2,050), and New York (3,505).

The red states had the least nursing home deaths from Covid: Florida (248), Texas (207), Virginia (78), etc.

State Reporting of Cases and Deaths Due to COVID-19 in Long-Term Care Facilities | KFF

Now tell me again how Trump had anything to do with that.

Who said Trump had anything to do with their deaths? Mandating that family members couldn't visit their loved ones is what I'm talking about.

At a nursing home in Texas, my aunt had stage 4 dementia. She fell out of her bed and laid on the floor, with a huge bruise on her forehead. They found her dead.
Cause of death on her certificate: Covid.

She had Covid. But that didn't cause her final dementia stage. Nor did it cause her to fall out of bed and bang her head.

This is the biggest problem with peoples idea of Covid. There was too much lying going on. Fabricating the numbers. Too much money going to things that had nothing to do with Covid. The president & his BFF Fauci not even caring about how things were being ran or the corruption that was infesting the entire Covid thing.

Add all that together and what do you get? Suspicion & doubt from the American people.

And the really odd thing, the left should've been praising Trump for his actions on Covid, vaccine and the lock downs. And the right should be kicking Trump under the bus for all of it.

So, in other words, don't talk politics with you because it's a waste of time?

Incorrect. It is not politic to make up a fantasy about how some modern day politico would have handled a situation if they were president or how some other president would have handled a situation, they were never faced with.
You might has well ask Trump if the south would have won the civil war if they had taken control of the airports. Get real dude. That is projection fantasy, not politics.

Thing is, you wrote "I don't know how she would have handled Covid, but I too, am glad we didn't find out."

The "am glad we didn't find out" is the contradictory part here. Why are you glad? Clearly because you've made "up a fantasy about how some modern day politico would have handled a situation".

The Hill (in the day) was smart, and I mean 30 IQ points on Trump, easy. Add to that she learned Washington inside and out from First Lady for 8 years on and married to one of the most astute politicians and of equally low morals (again back in the day). She, like Donny, was totally lacking in character, going all the way back to when she stuck with him, after Monica and other known incidents, simply to assure her own political career. She sent her Ambassador and his staff to spy on what the CIA was doing for her boss, getting him and others killed, then blatantly lied about it. She wanted to work and communicate without government oversight, so set up a personal server in her house, and lied about it, destroyed it to conceal evidence and lied about, (successfully mind you for hour after hour in congressional testimony) without blowing up, with even getting a contempt citation. Although it was another case of Republican lawyers and politicians (the worst kind) that didn't know if they wanted political points or a prosecution, so didn't really get either on her. So, very smart, cunning, low morals, knew Washington and government inside and out. This made her potentially more dangerous than trump. Like I've said, neither of the 2016 party candidates were remotely suitable for the office. And, Yes, I am glad we didn't find out how far she could go in the big chair.

Look, I'm no fan of Hillary, Trump, the Democrats, the Republicans. However we make judgments on politicians all the time. We wonder how they'd have done things, how they will do things in the future.

Is it fantasy? Yes. But we can't judge a presidential candidate based on what they've done if they've never been president. Even with Biden and Trump it's a little difficult to know how they'll go, because both of them could be dead by November this year, next year or the year after.

Biden's presidency seems to be about the people behind the scenes, Trump's seems to be based on what he last drank/ate or who he last spoke to or what website he last looked at.

From a dude who was both massively pro-work with China and massively anti-work with China, pro-gun control and anti-gun control, the only constant with Trump is Trump's ego.

Judging how Trump will try and undermine democracy if he gets or doesn't get a second term is also difficult to judge.

But that's what such forums like this are for.
