Special Counsel Jack Smith is poised to make a colossal and epic mistake in bringing criminal charges against former President Donald Trump for election interference in the 2020 Presidential election. Unless the Special Counsel has direct and unrefutable evidence that Donald Trump conspired on the January 6th trespass of the Capital and the disrupted the Electoral College vote count to determine the outcome of the Presidential election, the Department of Justice shouldn't bring charges. The evidence needs to be crystal clear evidence like leaders of the Proud Boys and/or the Oath Keepers had a January 6th like plan and before January 6th had informed the President of this plan and the President clearly and affirmatively supported the plan. If not the Attorney General should shut down these ongoing Grand Jury proceedings; otherwise long-term this will hurt America! Because this will be perceived by a lot of Republican and Independent Americans as a politically motivated prosecution thus establishing a bad precedent and considering both main political parties in America have a pronounced extremist's and hyper-partisan bent which seems to have grown to a deeply ingrained character trait eventually America will then see a right wing Republican administration take power in America and thus take control of the DOJ and this precedent will be used to green light what will be essentially political prosecutions against Democrats and their family members, this is a bad future for America the seeds being sown here will wrought.
The media, Democrat leaders, Republican leaders and many other who get a public microphone in our nation hold a view or perspective about events and think there is no other legitimate view any other view then there view is not the truth. It is shocking, disgraceful and really scary what kind of nation this deep bad character trait can cause America especially in her justice systems. The relevance of this point is that Donald Trump and his many supporters could legitimately view the 2020 election as stolen from him that fraud took place which changed the outcome of the election in favor of Joe Biden. This writer doesn't think that he is a rule of law guy if you cannot and do not prove it in court than you don't have it and the Trump team had ample opportunity to prove fraud in court and failed. Donald Trump and his supporters could legitimately view this election as a fraudulent one, in part, because there was widespread disparity in the rules and efforts made for curing non-conforming ballots some counties allowed it and made a major effort to do so other counties didn't. In many counties the delivery deadline dates for mail in ballots were changed sometimes directly contrary to enacted statutes governing such issues.
Contrary to the media's position and their Herculean effort in trying to disseminate this biased viewpoint one other reason one could legitimately question the legitimacy of the election is what happened in Fulton County Georgia at the State Farm Arena on November 3rd 2020; it is the State Farm Arena videotape matter where the tape shows at this ballot counting center most of the election workers left but two of the workers loading ballots in the vote counting machine continued working, in fact, continue counting ballots. Various government bodies including the Georgia's Secretary of State Office investigated the matter and although they concluded no fraud occurred, the facts uncovered can fairly support a conclusion that the integrity of the vote count in that county is suspect. It is uncontested that the State Board of Election monitor left for around an hour because he believed the ballot counting had ceased for the day when it hadn't, that fact alone throws the integrity of the vote count in question. Other facts which further support questioning the integrity of the ballot count include: during this one hour gap with no State Board of Election monitor the security seal on containers containing uncounted ballots was cut of course it was done so the counters could access the ballots so they could be counted but that security protection was violated; Fulton County Election officials publicly reported inaccurate information about what transpired on Nov.3rd and 4th , County Officials reported that a normal procedure was followed where the workers inspecting and opening the mail ballots and putting the ballots in piles and containers and sealing the containers these workers were done their job for the day and that is why they were sent home and the Republican monitors and the media just wrongfully assumed that the ballot counting operation was being shut down for the night, that the workers counting votes were always expected to stay and finish counting the opened mail-in-ballots (the Secretary of State investigation reported the truth and a different account they reported around 10:30 that evening the whole ballot counting operation was being shut down two staff members communicated that to the entire room - its laughable that the report tries to make hay that the Republican monitors and media were not told they had to leave 'why would they stay if the operation was being shuttered for the day'- the Director of Fulton County elections then called the Arena around 10:45 and told the top manager the location had to continue counting the opened ballots, and the vote counting immediately restarted).
Other facts raise questions on the integrity of the count: the table of note where boxes of uncounted ballots were stored why was the end of that table out of sight of the security camera - it is possible someone could have been moving ballots through that blind point, why were table clothes especially black ones used it obscures the view of what is going on with those ballot containers under the tables, why weren't security cameras used so that you could see the entire area of the arena floor where the vote counting was taking place so you could see any suspicious movement of what could be piles of ballots be wrongfully taken into or out of the space. It is too late now because ample time for manipulation has taken place but why when this videotape was initially publicly released and the Hurricane ensued why weren't all the security cameras footage of the ballot counting center at the State Farm Arena for the entire day immediately released to the public so the public could see for themselves if any funny business took place or how secure or reliable the process took place; further, why when the Hurricane began didn't election authorities immediately release the ballot count at 10:30 when the processing center was initially shut down and at 1:00 am the next day when it was finally shut down - that could have revealed that the pattern of the results did not change during the period in question!
Unless the DOJ has a smoking gun like as outlined above this prosecution will look like a political prosecution and America will be hurt by it. Further, I predict even if Trump is successfully prosecuted in this election interference case that a later Republican President will pardon Trump and also the vast majority of the hundreds of people successfully prosecuted for January 6th; Jan 6th when you get rid of all the hype and media and partisan smoke is about the failure of Security authorities for the U.S. Capitol - when you have a large angry group of protesters (which was foreseeable) it can readily turn into a dangerous and destructive mob which is what occurred, it's Security 101 - authorities absolutely and definitely should have had the National Guard at the ready on for the scheduled protest for January 6th 2021 at the Capitol!
