Trump: I called McCain a 'hero' four times

Trump was trying to diminish McCain's war hero status. First it was McCain is not a war hero. Then it became McCain is a war hero because he was captured.

Funny how no one wants to produce an actual transcript, they want to para phrase with that oh not so true spin to it ...................

Funny how also everyone forgets to mention the fact McCain started the shit slinging by commenting Donald and 30,000 supporters were "crazies".

Now Donald and 30,000 folks think McCain is a piece of shit starting thrash.

That is the way the sane world see's it, then there is your side the left ..................

Such fucking drama queens ...........
Good point! There was trash talk from both of them. As far as the actual transcript......... Im sure it's easy enough to find a video of the event.

The GOP leadership wants to get rid of Trump
McCain, from time to time, does work with the GOP leadership

Now do you get the picture of what maybe going on?
possibly. However, I don't think the GOP can execute a plan that well.

Actually, it does not take much.
All you have to do is get Trump to talk about someone he dislikes.

But then, it is a double edged plan...It could rally more people that secretly agrees with Trump assessment!!

LOL, they are still harping over this. You know when they are hard up for something to distract off their three Loser Candidates they have running. But hey don't forget they did the same thing to A WOMAN who was running for Vice President of our country. so there isn't any low they won't crawl for their: party

You tell us what McCain meant by his initial "not a hero" comment.

Fact checking the WP and what they left out of the article. And we all know they will be endorsing Hillary :)

"An article in the Washington Post today is headlined, “Trump slams McCain for being ‘captured’ in Vietnam.”

The article’s lead sentence states, “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump slammed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam War veteran, on Saturday by saying McCain was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].”

Is this report accurate?

In fact, Trump’s actual quote is the opposite of what is presented in the Post’s first sentence.

Discussion

1. The Post did not provide context at the outset disclosing that McCain and Trump have been feuding, with McCain characterizing some Trump supporters as “crazies” and Trump stating that McCain graduated last in his class in Annapolis. The charged rhetoric continued at the conservative Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa this weekend.

2. When a panelist characterized McCain as a “war hero,” the Post is accurate in reporting that Trump initially said McCain is “not a war hero.” But then, Trump immediately modified his statement saying– four times– that McCain is a war hero:

“He is a war hero.”

“He’s a war hero because he was captured.”

“He’s a war hero, because he was captured.”

“I believe, perhaps, he’s a war hero. But right now, he’s said some very bad things about a lot of people.”

3. Did Trump say McCain is not a war hero because he was captured? No, not in the exchanges represented in the Post.

4. Is the Post’s characterization an accident? It would appear not, because it is repeated in the Post’s caption of the video clip, which also states: “Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a decorated Vietnam war veteran, was not a war hero because he was captured by the North Vietnamese [emphasis added].”

Further, in the Post’s second sentence, Trump is quoted as stating of McCain, “He’s not a war hero…He’s a war hero because he was captured,” but the article selectively left out the phrase Trump had uttered in between: “He is a war hero.”"

Anyone who who is imprisoned, spat on, mistreated and tortured deserves our respect.
I don't know how Ivana Trump held on so long.

That's all fine and dandy for their service. But when that war hero turns into a pompous bully who constantly derides other people, that asshole war hero should get slapped silly.

Just because one is a war hero or a hero of any kind, doesn't give them carte blanche to ridicule and insult others.

McCain's a fucking asshole. A big war hero fucking asshole.

Did I mention he was a war hero?

Funny, lame stream media shit all over Sharyl Attkinson, looks like her literary sword is getting retribution from the lying scumbags of that media.

Yeah......and when he was running against Obama he was a shriveled up old man......right?

Yeah, but what does that have to do with Trump. Or is a Hero like a shriveled up old man? Because I disagree with that
It's like the way you guys cry crocodile tears over flag-draped coffins when Bush was president.....but Obama changes zip....zero....nada after 5 coffins get filled in Chattanooga.......and do you complain.....nope...zip...zero.....nada

Stephanie, tell us what you think Trump meant by his initial statement that McCain is "not a war hero". Thanks.

Is it
Trump never said "He(McCain) is not a war hero."

Is this the gist of their argument? Or are they saying he did say the above, but then was forced to correct himself several times by another person on stage?

Donald Trump appears to have gotten under the skin of not only Democrats, but also fellow Republicans and the news media. Has that subjected Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, to unfair and/or inaccurate reporting?

So now how about you roll the time machine back a couple of days and see who instigated this shit slinging match.

Are you intelligent enough to be aware of current events??

What did McCain say about Trump and supporters that made Mr. Trump reply that way??

Isn't it a fucking tragedy when everyone else knows what is happening and you are sitting there looking pretty fucking stupid??

What it means....is you could give a damn about McCain. You just want to hammer Trump....cuz you really don't give a shit about our soldiers.
It's pretty clear....because of the way you guys acted while Bush was president.....but are totally different when Obama neglects his soldiers...leaves them out to fend for themselves......and turns them into sitting-ducks.
