I support Macron's statement.
Rather than paying the US for protection and being their political slaves (as shown most recently by the EU being dragged into the evolving regime-change of Iran by the US),
we should simply build our own strong armed forces, and think carefully about how and how far we support the sloppy interventions that the US has become such a fan of since the removal of Saddam.
