Trump can't eliminate Cruz. Trump is universally hated by the GOP establishment and has screwed up badly in his campaign strategy. He's spent all his time trashing people and courting the popular vote but no time courting delegates. He'll go into the convention short of the 1237 and the GOP establishment will brush him off giving the outstanding delegates to Cruz. Trumps negatives are devastatingly bad and the GOP knows he'd get killed in the general election. That's simply a fact - a 37% approval rating from Republicans, 20% from women, next to nothing from minorities. He's got a loyal following, but keep in mind he's only received 20% of all votes cast so far by Americans in these primaries. Wish all you want, but the facts run counter to those wishes.
