Trump budget would slash rental aid by 40% — and let states fill the gap if they want

Man, are you deluded. Poor people can get jobs. You’re advocating to starve senior citizens by abolishing the Medicare they’ve been paying into sincs the 1960s.
I agree. **** them. No money outside of Defense and weights and Measures. **** them, **** the highways, **** farmers, **** old people. MAGA!

states fill the gap...if they want

I get it. But why stop here. Why not end subsidies for "everything" ?

President Trump has repeatedly promised to "make America affordable again." But for those Americans most in need, his administration's latest budget plan would dramatically shrink the federal rental aid that helps keep millions of people housed.

In its request for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the White House called the current system of federal rental assistance "dysfunctional" and proposed essentially ending Section 8 and other housing voucher programs. Its plan calls for cutting rental aid by about 40% and sending that money to states "to design their own rental assistance programs based on their unique needs and preferences."

Perfect, government aid sets a floor for rent. Let the apartment complexes fight it out.

Why cut out the two programs that retirees have paid into for 40 years, were depending on, and the loss of which they have no way to compensate for at their older age? Just let them starve? Die of an infection?

Instead, we cut out the welfare programs of able-bodied adults in their prime working years, and they can get jobs instead of living off of other people.
Medicaid cuts are also immoral and unnecessary.

We did already. Now let's decimate the dept of commerce as well.
I don’t know enough about that department to render an opinion. But I’m sure we can downsize the staff by half.

Why should the federal government be responsible for rental aid? The states could probably do it better and more efficiently.
Because Democrats jacked up the taxes so sky high the poor and working class can't afford housing...oh wait, who's getting the money?? :eusa_think:

Its what you want. Lets do it.
You side against Jewish kids in campus and responsible senior citizens who have contributed to society for 40+ years - and side with the Islamists spreading HAMAS propaganda and irresponsible young adults who expect to live off of Other People’s Money rather than…..shudder….get a job like a grownup.

All this shit is bigger in the blue states. So, let them handle their very own messes.
