Trump Ballroom Unlikely To Be Built

Congress MUST be involved if it's TAXPAYER money involved.

This isn't, thus Congress has ZERO input.

Please point out in the law below, where is says "express authority of Congress - but only if tax payer money is involved".

And yes, tax payer money is involved. Who do you think is going to be paying for maintenance, upkeep, and operations of the ballroom once Trump is done building his monument to himself on the White House grounds? Yep, the taxpayers.

You do not say why you are OK with democrat renovations to the White House at government cost while strongly objecting to Trump's renovations and upgrades art private cost.

I have repeatedly, BECAUSE THEY WERE AUTHORIZED BY CONGRESS for things outside normal maintenance, repair, and redecorations that fell outside the normal budgetary allotment passed by Congress.

No President (DEM or GOP) has ever flattened an entire building on the White House grounds to build such a structure without the approval of Congress as required by lawe.

Does that mean no president can authorize any renovation work on his White House residence without 2/3 approval from Congress?

Trump is building a new security bunker under the new ballroom due to growing security needs that he does not necessarily want the whole world knowing about for security reasons.

Again, and again. Congress authorizes a budget (about $2.5 million per year) for normal repair, maintanence, and renovation. That isn't what Trump is doing.

He raized an entire building and is attempting to build something completely new. For that he needs to go to Congress.

#1 If he doesn't want the whole world knowning about it, he failed. You just showed you know about it, are posting about it on an open forum, and therefore I think we can pretty much guess that the whole world knows about his "secert" underground bunker.

#2 So what? The law is clear, he needs Congressional approval and "he doesn't want to..." isn't an exception.
