Cost of the Obama Presidential Center to Taxpayers
The Obama Presidential Center — often called the Obama library — is a $830 million project on Chicago’s South Side, plus about $224 million in related infrastructure (roads, transit upgrades, and station improvements) The Pricer. This brings the total public investment to roughly $1.05 billion.
So? Are you still griping about Trump renovating the White House with donated funds while justifying Obama building his library with more than $1 billion in taxpayer funds? The Obama Library is NOT a Congressional building.

Looks like the WH is located on a "Park".No, you are misstating the case.
I'm not complaining that Trump is building a ballroom. I'm pointing out that Trump is violating the law (40 USC 8106) because he did not obtain authorization from Congress. The United States Constitution clearly provides that Congress controls the national seat of power (Article I, Section 8) and CONGRESS clearly said that they have to approve the erection of any building.
* * IF * * he had followed the law and obtained Congressional approval to destory the current building and build a replacement - whether it was funded by the federal government or if Congress had authorized construction via donations. Then that would be fine.
But he didn't.
And you continued attempt to deflect to Obama is both false and lame:
- As to false, the total project cost is about $850 million not a billion and in addition most of that money comes from the Obama Library Foundation through donations. Which is fine since Presidential libraries are privide entities, not a government entity. The cost to taxpayers is about $244 million, and that is roads and infrastructure that Chicago and the State has approved.
- Lame because it's laughable that you have to deflect to a private entity, funding and building a library, and the STATE and CITY providing infrastructure changes and NOT the federal government.
The analysis about federal law (40 USC 8106) starts on PDF page 19. Now it will be on to the appeals court.
