Trump Ballroom Unlikely To Be Built

You say that, but I’m pretty confident that if Biden or Obama had done this, you’d be saying ā€œother presidents have made changes! It’s a good idea! He doesn’t need permission!ā€

i really think this is ALL about trump, 100%
Other presidents have made changes.
Like the drapes and the carpets.
Of course Obama made a major change to the outside tennis court, by adding basketball hoops, and painting additional lines. He didn't tear up the existing tennis court.

The government would be required to comply with the following processes before new construction at the White House:
  • The National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC) has review authority over new construction on federal properties in the capital region, including the White House, and NCPC has exercised that authority in recent years with the approval of a new security fence and a tennis pavilion at the White House.
  • The Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) would have an advisory review before new construction takes place at the White House.
These review processes also include the opportunity for the American public to comment on the project.

Did any of these things take place?

So who has standing to stop the president's Whitehouse renovation?
Who is being harmed.

Not sure a judge would accept ā€œYour Honor ORANGE MAN BAD did it so I’m butthurtā€ as a valid argument.

Is that really a major change? A hoop and lines?

If the ballroom ever does get built I would contribute $100 to tear it down and rebuild the East Wing. Any physical manifestation of the Orange Menace's existence should, if possible, be destroyed to wipe the stain off the country. Starting with taking his name off the Kennedy Center.
And taking Trump's name off the "Institute for Peace" which DOGE closed down, and the building fell into disrepair.

There is also that garden that the Right threw a fit over and Trump tore up on day one.

Frankly, I have no problem with tearing up whatever Trump manages to build

It is not taxpayer money

Major renovations, dumbass.

White House renovations over the years

Just the opposite is true. We do care about the state of the White House which is why we are unhappy part of it was demolished.

Those that do not oppose this are the ones that do not care about the state of the White House.
I know you've seen the artist rendering of the inside of the completed project, but have you taken the 30 seconds to look at the other renderings of the finished facade?

Now, these are renderings, but nothing out of the norms of the building that I see.

Nothing in that link says that the president can't modify the Whitehouse.
Nothing says the president can't completely tear down the ENTIRE White House, and start over again.

But common sense, and federal historical landmark rules prevent that.

As pointed out earlier, the East Wing isn’t a historical landmark. It was built 1942, Simp.

So they would tear down a ball room to replace it with a ball room?

I agree, it probably needs to be scaled down by about 40%, but it WILL be useful.
Yes
We don’t need a 90,000 sq ft ballroom that dwarfs the White House,
There is still time for Trump to do it right and coordinate with proper channels

If he refuses, tear it down and do it right

Nobody cares about your opinions.

TRUMP Ballroom wouldn’t be a historical structure either
Easy to just tear it down and do it right
