Let's have the full context of what he said please. There is no way to determine that from so short a clip. I'm pretty darn sure Trump isn't trying to force any senior citizens to do anything though. His no tax on social security proposal--it would have to be agreed to by Congress--could be an incentive for some to keep working in a job they love or to increase their retirement savings.

Generally they come from the Union ranks but since Management no longer has pensions (nor do Union members hired post 2013) any Union member who takes a Management position caps their pension. Not many guys willing to do that; so right now about 50% of our Supervisors are currently upgraded Union employees.

Trump has pledged to eliminate income taxes on SS benefits/checks and taxes on overtime pay, both of which help fund SS. Then there's the promise of mass deportations of immigrants. All of whom pay into SS. That will bleed the SS fund dry. A lost of 33% is predicted by the CBO. If retirees lose 33% off their checks, guess what's going to happen. They'll need to find a job. Here's the kicker it this won't occur till 2031. By then Trump will be long out of office if he wins and it'll be directly blamed on the next democrat president. Then it becomes the job of democrats to bail out yet another disasterous republican run economy.

MAGA dupes are too stupid to realize that Trump & his GOP asslickers know that meddling with SS is political suicide. So, they'll just bankrupt it with these tax schemes & get the same result that they want, which is to run the program into the ground.

Unfortunately most of the large companies have no interest in hiring them, except for Walmart greeters or fast food. My employer no longer offers any real pension for new employees. Pensions ended for new Management employees after 1999.

All Union and Management employees are included in a 401K with limited company match and Union employees hired after May 2013 get Dditional company funds added to their 402K annually based on years of service in place of the company funded pension those of us hired prior to that date have.
