Progress?? No...

And we don't even have to go back to business attire. Just don't dress like trash. Wear pants or comfortable jeans and a decent looking shirt. It's not that hard. It's disgusting to me the way Americans have such little self respect in public.

As well as common sense. Young people are paying more money for jeans that have holes in them larger than the ones we patched by necessity in order to remain presentable.

So different than today savages...

Pajamas are worn everywhere. One of my step great granddaughters only wears pajamas. She flew here from Arizona in pajamas. She has no other clothes. Her just got her some new things, all pajamas. Of course she is struggling with cancer and has the mental capacity of an 8 year old so we let her do what she wants. The next time you see someone inappropriately wearing pajamas, they might be very sick and never progressed past childhood.

The Transportation Secretary asked people to take some pride in their appearance and not dress like slobs when they fly. In response, the low human capital of America decided to dress themselves up as trailer trash and look like even bigger slobs in public.

Boy, they sure owned him....

Hahaha

Stories like this remind me that I do like this country.

I can second this. Three years ago on Thanksgiving Day, I went into a grocery store before it closed early for the holiday, and I still had my night clothes on because sadly I got hit with strep throat earlier that week. It sucks when a person still has to do certain things no matter how bad their health may be. I had my coat on over top my clothes of course, but I had my hood on too to hide how messy my hair was from being sick.

God bless you and your family always!!!

Holly

P.S. I didn't get to do any real eating until the next day and sadly it was a chore then too.

Going to the drugstore to get medications when you're sick is a far cry from flying cross country in your PJs.

Its one of those things where I agree with the Secretary. I don't know if any of you are old enough to remember Reagan but the White House Press Corps was looking more and more like a frat house for a while there. Reagan made a pretty curt comment to them about the clothing. I don't know what his motives were but I like to think it was more along the lines of, "have some self respect, man" than this directive from the secretary. That being said...I'll say it to the passengers..."have some self-respect, man". I purposefully dress down to travel myself. The last thing I want to do is waste time lacing up hiking boots or taking layers of clothing off in security. I have been known to wear crocs but no slippers, and no pajamas. Like I said, "have some self respect.".

Casual reverse psychology rarely works in my experience and often results in exactly the undesired behavior.

How is that different from Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy urging travelers to dress with respect and civility while flying?

Sucks I suppose that American's have freedoms and aren't a big fan of big government preaching to them.

When the government instructs you to do something, you need to jump and fall in line, right?
I never understand why people sometimes don't take pride in themselves.

It's not the government issuing a command, it's just the adult thing to do.

I have travel clothes. They are comfortable, fit well, lightweight, have side pockets with zippers, etc.

People can plan a trip and find their gate but they don't know how to dress? That makes perfect sense.
