Travelers Wear Pajamas to the Airport to Protest Request

I never understand why people sometimes don't take pride in themselves.

IMO they are simply trying to be comfortable. As has already been pointed out, there is no leg room on planes any longer. Saturday my daughter flew into Chicago . Flew out of Columbus. Because of all the crap they make you go through she had to be there at 6 am which means we left the house at 4 am.

She sat on the plane in Chicago for 6 hours because of the snow. A person should fix themselves up and wear a nice dress for that?

It's not the government issuing a command, it's just the adult thing to do.

The adult thing to do seems to be sit up for hours calling people names on the internet.

That’s what governments do … they preach. They can preach taking pride in your appearance, inclusiveness for the violently mentally ill, or the virtues of an insect-based diet. It’s all preaching.

A suggestion that people take pride in their appearance may be a few decades too late, but if it doesn’t come with legislation it’s simply preaching.

Maybe preach on some manners while talking to others?

It was a weird tangent Secretary of The Real World went off on to begin with when he raised that topic originally. I really don't care what people wear as long as they aren't stinky with BO or perfume, and they place their baby in checked baggage.
Appearance (and manners) maketh Man

Theres the "pride" thing again. This time its people need to take "pride" in their appearance. Yeah, whatever. Not buying it.

I can second this. Three years ago on Thanksgiving Day, I went into a grocery store before it closed early for the holiday, and I still had my night clothes on because sadly I got hit with strep throat earlier that week. It sucks when a person still has to do certain things no matter how bad their health may be. I had my coat on over top my clothes of course, but I had my hood on too to hide how messy my hair was from being sick.

God bless you and your family always!!!

P.S. I didn't get to do any real eating until the next day and sadly it was a chore then too.
You didn't get on an airplane though! Not exactly the same.

I remember business flight in a suit and tie. Sitting on a god awful plane knowing when i get off the plane its right to a stupid meeting with an idiotic client. Having a suit and tie on just made it all worse and more uncomfortable. Ties are unbecoming and restrictive. What an awful thing they truly are. Some traditions need to go away. Ties are one of them.

I still haven’t seen anyone here say what exactly the dress code for flying ought to be

Try 12 hours SFO to Taiwan leaving home 3 hours early to drive up in unknown traffic 60 miles park 2 miles away to save money for the company. 1 hour lineup to check a bag. 1 hour TSA hogwash SEPT 22 2001 carrying hi-tech equipment. 2 hour layover finding next gate show passport over and over ticket don't lose it then 6 hours to Singapore or more? Then another 6hr layover to Malaysia 3hr smaller flight. Get there at 98% humidity sun shining long customs line rag tops ripping thru your work luggage eyeballing you tired dry thirtsy hot smelly scum all over 33 hours in aluminum coffin roaring in eardrums, shoes off/on patdown trans mofo ha ends on. Finally get key go to room wondering where the F am I? Priceless. Just SHUP!

Sure, I want to pay taxes to have some girly man act like my GF and say "Is THAT what you're wearing?"

If one is wearing pjs and not bothering others what is the difference? Its a flight not a funeral.
