Irrelevant to the current discussion at hand. The overwhelming majority of these current situation is involving people with perfectly functioning genitals and internal organs of their actual sex thinking they need to remove said items to be the "gender they really are"

there are specific conditions that would more like
AMBIGUOUS genitalia. I think the most common
is an enlarged clitorus that LOOKS LIKE a penis---
sorta and an ethical basis for surgery. SEX
change as an OPTION of the parents who can
find a willing doctor----does not seem to pass
the smell test

FMG----which is highly variable in actual
practice and LATELY officially outlawed in
SOME muslim countries is actually practiced
wherever there are significant numbers of
muslims----including EGYPT which has a rep.
as being at the forefront of outlawing it. We

said that female circumcision should not be
DRASTIC----like the custom in some african
countries of removing the entire clitorus and
even messing around with the Labia. There is
NOTHING in the koran (english translation) that
suggests that Muhummad "cautioned against it"
The minimal job includes removal of a bit of
"HOOD" over the clitoris which is analogous
in ontogeny to the prepuce of the penis. As far
as I recall, Muhummad did not describe the
minimal job but just advised against RADICAL
