I am putting this in politics instead of healthcare... because it is about the political side of all this.

I am as conservative as they come. Leftism is a cancer among us in many ways.
One, however, is not the vaccine.
Get vaccinated. We need to cut this thing down before a truly bad variant comes out. Delta is not it. It is not nearly as bad as bad as the original, but it can become worse as it will, inevitably morph itself.
As i have stated here a number of times my son is a Respiratory Specialist, and my daughter is a Respiratory Therapist. Both at major hospitals.
At the hospital my daughter works at, there are 44 Covid patients. 6 are in ICU. 2 are likely to die.
Wanna know the demographics?
All but two are minorities.
Only one is vaccinated.

Let that sink in. It is the same all over. Right now Covid is a sickness, primarily for the unvaccinated. Yes you can spout off some anecdotal situations that show some vaccinated people getting sick and even dying. But folks, the numbers are simply what the numbers are. And the numbers are the sick enough to be hospitalized - are overwhelmingly unvaccinated.

Getting vaccinated is not "giving in". It doesn't make you less conservative. It is not a "win" for the other side.
It is Goddamn common sense in order to stop a very possible bad ass variant from developing that will screw us over worse than 2020.

Call me when the FDA declares any vaccine safe and effective.

I understand the difference between recovery immunity and vaccine immunity.
Recovery immunity means your immune system has become familiar with the virus and has stored how to identify it and how to defeat it.
These mRNA vaccines do not contain actual viruses, but only the spike protein, so are much more likely prone cause the immune system to misidentify.
The immune system may fail to identify the real virus and may incorrectly identify something like our own exosomes as antigens and attack them.

The cards, which authorities said were destined for New Orleans, feature the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) logo in the upper right corner and are blank to allow the recipient to fill in their name, birthdate, and information about the vaccine they are alleging to have received. The reality is that there were no vaccines before 1800, so herd immunity was about the only way to end any epidemic, and it always does work.
Fauci just claimed it would take too many deaths in the case of covid-19, as many as 2.4 million, and clearly he was wrong.
He based the death rate on that of those over 70 since they were the ones mostly dying, and if we deliberately infected volunteers under 40, the death rate drops by a factor of 400. When then reduces Fauci's estimate of 2.4 million deaths from herd immunity, to only 6,000 deaths from herd immunity.
Face it, Fauci goofed.
And we should have eliminated covid last March, instead of "flattening the curve".
