The CDC has been making a whole lot of bad calls.
Of course natural herd immunity has always ended every single epidemic in the past, so can easily end this one as well.
And no it would NOT have had a tremendous cost in human lives, and in fact would have saved 550,000 lives, because it could have been done last March.
The reason people are dying is mostly because of the high fatality rate for those over 70.
Those under 40 have 400 times less of a fatality rate.
Fauci estimated herd immunity would require 2.4 million deaths, (70% of 330 million, time a 2% lethality rate).
But he was all wrong for many reason, one of which is that we have the option of deliberately infecting volunteers under 40.
That divides Fauci's 2.4 million by a factor of 400, which comes out to only 6,000 deaths.
