Many are complaining that spending close to $50 million on the Presidential Inauguration on January 20 while we are at war is exorbitant, tasteless, and even "obscene" and that the money should be spent elsewhere, like on troop materials and tsunami disasters.
Many are giving the impression that Bush is writing 1 big check for all of this. Not true. The money is coming from many various company donations and individual ticket buyers, except the money to protect the event will come from the Homeland Security budget.
There will be many different events around the actual inauguration. The centerpiece event will be centered on celebrating the fighting soldiers in Iraq and more than 2,000 troops and their partners will attend the event.
What say you? Do you think these inauguration festivities are nothing more than a piggish display by the Republicans or do you think it is an appropriate celebration marking the new term?
