Obviously buying American would put Americans to work. But our economy depends on imports as well as exports. Closing our markets to foreign goods would not just cripple us, it would ring our Death Knell.

You never considered that someone can have a job and yet not make ends meet, have you? In your mind, all welfare recipients are merely lazy, not truly disadvantaged.

And the reason we are fearful of backward cultures which still use corporal and capital punishment is the sheer barbarity of it. Ever read that pesky constitution? Seems there's something in there to keep sadists and idiots such as yourself away from the criminal justice system. Cruel and unusual it begins. Research the rest on your own, or have someone read it to you. You'll be disappointed as there are no pictures.

I have to eat. Some of what I eat is bread or pasta or anything else made of wheat. And you want to make wheat as expensive as oil. Putting American farmers back to work is a noble idea. Making bread $6.00 a loaf is just stupid.

Cutting off foreign aid is a sure way to get those folks to love us, isn't it? No more water project, agricultural projects, cultural exchanges or funding for schools in desperate places. What a marvelous foreign policy. Just say "No!" and wait for the attack later so we can carpet bomb them back into the fold.

And part of being an American isn't a mandatory recital of the pledge or singing the national anthem. It's enjoying the freedoms without having to participate if you choose.
