That 'safety net' is in many cases an exercise in government control and limits choice. You can't really blame people for seeing the Marxist tint that creates. I've seen interviews with democrat congressmen talking about 85% tax rates. I believe it was on Tucker Carlson. Doesn't that sound a tad Marxist? I agree with Mac that it gets thrown around too much, but I don't think people are pulling it out of their behinds.
