The truth is, by expanding Medicaid, getting rid of pre-existing conditions limitations on obtaining insurance, and by introducing the subsidies,
Obama is the one who for many Americans enabled them to get healthcare at a fraction of what it was costing them.

Just out of curiosity, does everyone here understand why Trump and the Republicans are so stymied with their attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare?
If not, listen close:
They are stymied because there is no plan they can come up with that is better than Obamacare that also doesn't violate the core conservative principles regarding healthcare and the government's role...
...plus...to make matters worse, there are plenty of moderate Republicans who at this point would be quite content to leave Obamacare alone,
if the only alternative is to go along with any of the conservative GOP wing's politically disastrous plans.
If not, listen close:

Well here is ONE way President Trump could be right.
The single most important aspect of health care finances that could be and has been PROVEN to be effect is TORT REFORM which Obama being a lawyer abhorred as does 47% of Congress!
$850 billion doctors project as wasted, duplicate testings,etc. all because of fear of lawsuits!
"Physicians estimate the cost of defensive medicine in US at $650 to $850 billion per year. This is 26 to 34% of all US healthcare costs."
FACTS: Between 2005 and 2009, there were 58,667 claims paid on behalf of US physicians. Of these paid claims, 56,850 (96.9%) were settled outside court, and 1817 (3.1%) were judged in court. Characteristics of paid malpractice claims settled in and out of court in the USA: a retrospective analysis
WHY were 96.9% settled? Because all the insurance companies did was pass the costs on in higher premiums!
It is cheaper then going to court and fighting it.
Hence doctors,etc. just out of FEAR of lawsuits say hey let's order another test to be sure!!!

Why are you protecting lawyers who have caused doctors to practice "Defensive Medicine"?
(See this study where 90% claim they order $850 billion a year in wasted duplicate tests, referrals all out of FEAR of being SUED!)

Then by far cutting just 20% of the $1.08 Trillion spent on "defensive medicine" would be nearly $200 Billion a year in savings!
And since almost all of you are ignorant of the simple fact that insurance companies are regulated by states, therefore if an insurance company asks for a rate increase, they have to justify by showing what their claim payment outlays were. IF tort reform which works for federally contracted physicians (the "1946 Federal Tort Claims Act") was enacted, then the insurance companies wouldn't be putting out $200 Billion in claims.
Meaning they could NOT raise premiums per state regulations BUT may have to lower premiums!
All because of simple tort reform that protects the physician from fear of lawsuits thus reducing the practice of defensive medicine!

Trump also said he would pay off the national debt before leaving office. That's nearly $19 trillion, and Trump hasn't even cut the deficit, no less create the sort of surpluses that would pay off $19 trillion in 8 years.
