When you sign an NDA in the private sector you are protecting information from your competitors

When you sign an NDA in the government, you are protecting information from the public

I don't think this a very good idea, with real whistleblowers persecuted and another "transparency" promise thrown to the curb. We don't need any more secrets than we have now. Trump administration proposes NDAs for all federal employees to curb leaks
