This is why there’s been so much extreme rainfall and flooding in the U.S.

that you obviously copied from some anti-science site

Greenland’s ice sheet formed over 2.6 million years ago

No, that's not quite right...

Greenland’s interior is shielded from oceanic warmth, unlike coastal Alaska

Absolutely false

Mountain Glaciers, Not Ice Sheets: Alaska’s glaciers are mostly alpine

Greenland has plenty of mountains too. Mt Kilimanjaro has glacier on the top. That's not an answer.

Dry Conditions: Parts of Arctic Alaska are surprisingly dry. Less snowfall means less accumulation to sustain glaciers long-term.

Alaska gets significantly more precipitation than Greenland, documented many times here.

Your side does not have that definition right... because if it did, it would self refute...

MASSIVE FAIL...

While there are varying meteorological forces behind this month’s extreme rainfall, what has connected them all is significant amounts of atmospheric moisture pulsing above the country.

It is flowing from abnormally warm oceans across the Northern Hemisphere that are likely to stretch elevated flood risks into August, data shows — perhaps into record territory. The conditions are allowing plumes of tropical moisture to stretch into middle latitudes and stagnate there, sending flood risks surging and exemplifying a critical consequence of rising global temperatures that researchers have been predicting and tracking for decades.

Scientist have been warning for decades about climate change. As oceans warm, the added moisture in the atmosphere will lead to more super storms. The repub party has called it lies and propped up their "experts" to refute the science. We can expect to see extreme weather episodes going forward and that will lead to more loss of life and property. Insurance rates are already skyrocketing in parts of the country where these weather extremes are prevalent. We may be too late to change course.
We are just seeing the beginning.

No, I don’t. You have said as much and you avoid discussing the science like it’s Ebola.
Not like Ebola, but I'm not arrogant enough to pretend I know better than the vast majority of the world's top experts. You don't seem to have that limitation.

You are completely unqualified to determine who is an expert. You are a science invalid and a parrot.

You should make that point to Copilot AI. As I said, I'm not qualified to challenge the judgement of the vast majority of experts in the field. When did you first realize you were so much smarter than all those scientists?

While I admit a certain level of ignorance on the subject that doesn't mean I am totally in the dark about the subject. My point is that reading a few questionable links on the internet doesn't qualify me to eliminate the work of experts who have invested years in the study of the subject. Seems the MAGA bunch doesn't agree with that fact.

How do you know these years of research? ... aren't you just reading commercial media and want journalists think of the experts are saying ... and what experts will say for money ...

Why do you think 1ºC changes weather? ... please, use common sense ...

He just told you.

He follows the experts. You know, people with actual education and experience and published science in the relevant scientific fields.

Sorry. I'm not limited by the "if it doesn't agree with MAGA, it' not real" meme

Soooo__ You gonna call me out, or are you just another prick tease?

I guess you are saying correlation does not imply causation, but I would counter with .....

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck.

No, I'm saying that nobody can physically reproduce and demonstrate the phenomenon that they claim is taking place.

IOW, there's no actual science behind your "settled science".

This is a dumb excuse.

We also haven't created a star in a lab. Or a volcano. Or a comet trail.

But we absolutely know how all of these things work.

Let see if you can notice a visual difference. Numbers are clearly not your thing. That's why you are a Democrat...

This is Alaska, covered head to toe with trees, grass, and wildlife, ice on mountains but nothing resembling mile thick ice with 130k years of ice core data that doesn't even get halfway down...

And this is Greenland, a continent specific ice age covered head to toe with ice age glacier, that started 1-2 million years ago at the northern top, and only in 1400s did it penetrate the southern tip and force the Vikings off the southern tip... Vikings who named it GREENland because the southern tip was ALL GREEN when they first settled it... but is now buried under 600 years of ice layers...

Every piece of land on Earth within 600 miles of an Earth Pole is in CONTINENT SPECIFIC ICE AGE, and every piece of land outside of 600 miles to a pole is not...

What a weird "coincidence" never noticed by the "top climate scientists..."

And as for "exposure to ocean warmth" and "elevation inland," this is what baby ice age has done to Greenland...

I'm seriously wondering when turbulence becomes so severe that it is no longer safe to fly. It should surprise no one if this becomes a reality someday, but there are so many other dire predictions one can make that can very well come true someday, and these weather extremes are proof of this. This is just kicking off.

There it is, right before your very eyes, year, after year, after year, and still it is just "weather", and no one can predict it.

I would say the cimate scientists have done an outstanding job of climate modeling and analysis, and even they would admit the rates of change are exceeding all of their predictions.

Turbulence from global warming?
It's certainly possible, as are a range of other dire consequences, such as climate refugees. The situation will continue to devolve, the question remains how quickly, and how severe the changes will be. You cannot accurately predict collapse with any level of certainty.
