Democrat policies have a huge effect on our lives in a bad way. Look at the price of a burger at Burger King or McDonalds. Why is it fast food costs nearly as much as a dinner at a diner or a restaurant? Answer: Democrat policies have done this.

What effects the price of meals the most:

  • $15 minimum wage
  • Taxes
  • Energy prices
  • Governmental regulations

Why is it when you go into Walmart there's 1 or 2 cashiers...but 6 automatic checkout stations? Answer: Democrat policies.
Just one more example of how Democrats and their crazy policies cost jobs.
If you really look at it....the higher cost of living caused by Democrat policies artificially raised the price of everything so that raising the minimum-wage seems like a good idea.

Democrats tell us that we all need a college education to be successful.....but if you look at it...there aren't enough good paying jobs for a person with a Bachelor Degree compared to someone with a skill or trade. The advantage of learning a trade is you don't end up with $120k in college debt and start working at least a couple of years sooner.

The Unintended Consequences Of Raising Minimum Wage To $15

Dems are idealistic fuckwads...Republicans...are also idealistic fuckwads...just about different shit.

Of the two however, the Democrats are economically obtuse.

Odd, there is no $15 minimum wage so how exactly has something that has never happened affected prices?

Walmart had rows and rows of automatic checkout stations, and banks who once had as many as a dozen tellers got rid of them in favor of ATM machines, long before there was much talk about the minimum wage. Technology and automation will continue taking people's jobs at the same pace, no matter what the minimum wage might be.

You're only half right. The items you listed do affect the price of meals:
  • The min wage also enables people to earn enough to live on. They might not need welfare or other support if they can support themselves.
  • Taxes are bipartisan, it doesn't matter to the business if their taxes go to social programs or military programs
  • Gov't should ensure availability of health insurance, clean air, safe drinking water, safe working conditions, etc. (at least it used to)
Increasing the min wage may speed up things like auto-check out but such changes are inevitable as AI and other tech develops.

I disagree with the linked piece....It can't be said that the consequences are unintended anymore....The pinkos know full well what they're doing.

Democrats are selling drugs now in cities, democrats know people who get hooked on drugs become dependent on the government. It’s all about power not progress

The automated check-out lines at WalMart have nothing to do with liberals. It is a way WalMart can increase profits. Automation is always used to increase profits, and has cost more jobs than unions, overseas labor or taxes combined.

And taxes effect any enterprise. From the top to the bottom, all businesses are taxed. Whether they can qualify for loopholes is the difference between big business and small business.

Fluctuation in energy prices and gov't regulations don't cost enough to effect most businesses.

Democrats are selling drugs now in cities, democrats know people who get hooked on drugs become dependent on the government. It’s all about power not progress

Dems selling drugs? Link?

And if people get hooked on drugs, how does the gov't take care of them. The gov't kicks them off welfare if they test positive for drugs.

And how is it the Dems selling drugs? Drug dealers attending political rallies now?

So your answer would be 'No', you don't have a link.

No offense, but you're full of shit.

30% of any business overhead is payrolls.
Never mind the demands by Democrats to provide full benefits including health care.
So the auto-cashier machine is a reaction to government that is overly intrusive.

Oh, so you make claims without a shred of evidence? Not surprising.

But let me ask you, are the elected politicians buy street drugs and reselling them on the street? Are they creating pill-heads by keeping people unemployed?

Payrolls are not included in overhead costs. Now you might argue that is a technicality, I do have a point.

Payrolls are labor costs.

You can pay labor costs or you can pay welfare. While one can argue that automation is the reaction to labor costs, a basic wage is inevitably going to be the reaction to automation.

What???
I guess you forgot all of the attacks against McDonald's to raise their wages for workers to at least $15?

If you want to discuss this honestly, great. I'm seeing you don't.
No.....the problem here is the fact that hidden costs that the MSM never mentioned to you on FOX, CNN, or MSNBC.

Why don’t you do research on the legalize drugs being sold in Boston today or given away.
