There's a price to be paid for retribution.

Not just that but also having a prez who would materially weaken the FBI to sooth his fragile ego.
One minute you claim the FBI has too much power and is fascist, the next minute you say they are weak.

I can't help pointing out that your horseshit whataboutism does not address the FBI officials having been fired because they participated in investigations of trump.
They should be fired for conjuring up the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA hoax, dumbass. Some of them need to be locked up for their crimes.

Firings have not gone far enough for some, like Clapper, Brennan, Wray, and one other I can’t recall for lying to the FISA courts to get warrants in the Russia collusion hoax.
Totally hear you—public trust took a real hit after the FISA mess. The fact that anyone could submit flawed evidence and still get a rubber-stamped warrant is something that should’ve had both parties yelling in unison.

That said, if firings are still being proposed years later without formal charges or internal findings to back them up, it starts to look less like accountability and more like vengeance in slow motion.

I’m all for cleaning house where the facts justify it. But the list of people we “feel” should’ve been fired is a lot longer than the list of those who provably broke the law. If we don’t draw a line between the two, we risk turning purges into policy.

Trump’s Politicized F.B.I. Has Made Americans Less Safe

Only 11 days after President Trump was inaugurated for a second term, his administration began a purge of the F.B.I. that now threatens some of the bureau’s most important missions. His appointees ousted eight of its most experienced managers, including the division heads overseeing national security, cybersecurity and criminal investigations. Several had worked on prosecutions of Jan. 6 rioters or had assisted in the various investigations of Mr. Trump, and Emil Bove, then the acting deputy attorney general, said they could not be trusted to carry out the president’s agenda.

That was just the beginning. Over the past five months, many F.B.I. agents, including other top managers and national security experts, have been fired, pressured to leave or transferred to lesser roles. Hundreds have resigned on their own, unwilling to follow the demands of the Trump administration. Their absence has left a vacuum in divisions that are supposed to protect the public. These losses have “obliterated decades of experience in national security and criminal matters at the F.B.I.,” Adam Goldman of The Times wrote.

Mr. Trump’s playbook for the F.B.I. is plain to see. He is turning it into an enforcement agency for MAGA’s priorities. He is chasing out agents who might refuse to play along and installing loyalists in their place. He is seeking to remove the threat of investigation for his friends and allies. And he is trying to instill fear in his critics and political opponents. Among his many efforts to weaken American democracy and amass more power for himself, his politicization of the F.B.I. is one of the most blatant.

These developments should unsettle all Americans, regardless of party.

trump’s second term has done more damage to American democracy than anything else since Reconstruction. He is attempting, with some success, to create a presidency unconstrained by Congress or the courts (while being enabled by the Roberts court), in which he and his appointees can ignore written law at their choosing. It is exactly the autocratic approach that the founders sought to prevent when writing the Constitution.

While doing so he has left the nation less safe. All to satisfy his need for revenge against those who investigated his many crimes. As if firing the investigators wiped the slate clean of the illegal acts they uncovered.

When your side politicized the FBI, (steel dossier, ect) you choose this.

I hope they cut to the bone. Your agents all need to be purged. No matter the cost.

Back in the 1930's, the USSR cleaned up their policing when they dumped the equivalently corrupt Nick Yezhov as their chief cop. President Trump is doing the same thing here.

How do you explain, if the FBI had been politicized against Dear Leader, the complete lack of leaks to the press about the Crossfire Hurricane investigation?

The easiest way to sabotage his campaign would have been to leak the existence of an investigation in to ties between Russian operatives and the trump campaign. But it didn't happen.

Most people don't have any understanding of what the "FISA mess" revealed.

It revealed the Biden DOJ committed multiple felonies by knowingly submitting false information to the FISA courts to spy on Biden’s political opponent and try to throw him in prison because he was kicking Tater’s ass/

So you wouldn’t complain if the Trump DOJ used info they knew was false to lie to a court to get warrants to go after the top Dimwinger Presidential candidate during an election.

Sure simp. Sure.

I hope they cut to the bone. Your agents all need to be purged. No matter the cost.
Not my agents. Agents who investigated crimes. They just happened to have been committed by trump. Purging them has nothing to do with making the FBI or the country stronger. It has to do with revenge.

LOL. Countering my example of a clear FBI weaponization, by citing a single example of the fbi NOT abusing it's power,

doesn't work.

A group that launches multiple political operations isn't made NOT political because of NOT launching one political operation.

The idea of a neutral civil service requires that the civil servants be neutral.

When you undid that, and used them for political ends, you choose to undo that.

This is the result of that. This was your choice.

We can't go back to a neutral civil service until your side stops using government for political purposes.

And once again, this has been an incredible education in world history. Certain things definitely make more sense now.

An education I never thought I would have to get, unfortunately.

The tradition of a neutral civil service required both sides to respect it.

Your side choose to shit can that.

What did you think our response would be?

This is the cost of RESIST.

Thanks for sharing that Lawfare piece—it’s a solid read. And yeah, if anything, it confirms how bad the “FISA mess” really was. Seventeen documented screw-ups? That’s a breakdown.

What stood out to me was how Lawfare described the problem: not partisan sabotage, but an FBI culture where “no one checked the wiring before flipping the switch.” A system failure, not a conspiracy.

That distinction matters. If we frame it as corruption, we chase scapegoats. If we frame it as rot, we fix the system.

Either way, the trust damage is real—and we’re still paying for it.

You made no such clear example. Take your lame, unproven allegations and shove them.
