If I was a gay, I would be much more proud to be a gay than a red neck. Gays have talent and money. Many of our greatest authors, movie stars, singers, poets, musicians, architects, scientists and so on come from such a small and obviously talented group.
What do red necks contribute besides racism and illegitimate children. And they get all this welfare and food stamps. They kill doctors, attack churches and kill many children. Look at Sandy Hook.
I'm sure God notices too. I suspect he doesn't agree what some redneck wrote into the Bible saying it was from God. If God felt that way, he wouldn't have given gays so much talent.
Dear
rdean I think the common factor is not gays vs rednecks.
It's forgiving people vs. unforgiving people. All the disasters you mention come from people not forgiving
problems but making them worse. Regardless if they are white, black, rich poor, gay straight, etc.
If you make a bigoted statement as you did, does it matter if you are gay or redneck?
The fact you made an ignorant blanket generalization speaks for itself.
If you don't forgive people, it biases your judgment, and you say biased/bigoted
things hardly different from the people you criticize who make similar mistakes.
What makes creative people make the most of their God given talents is being
able to forgive and get past social barriers or setbacks. The "gay people" who
can forgive can succeed. While the gay people who are sick and commit suicide
cannot forgive and get stuck in depression or other mental illness that can kill them.
If you look deeper, and not on the surface with labels as gay or redneck,
you will see that in cases of criminal abuse or welfare abuse,
if people are sick in denial, and have behavioral or social problems they can't solve and get stuck,
there are usually unforgiven conflicts that prevent them from moving forward.
Or staying stuck in mental illness, until they explode or deteriorate, either killing themselves or others.
If you look at the cases of successful gays, rednecks, blacks or whites, rich or poor
(I mean, look at how both Obama and Bush overcame their days of drug abuse and were able to achieve high goals)
the common factor in recovering from setbacks and barriers is
Forgiveness.
So
rdean if you are not forgiving of others,
you are missing the very thing that allows
gay people to overcome social stigmas and barriers
and achieve great things with their talents.
The one factor that makes all the difference
between gay success and gay suicide,
and you miss the point entirely!
