Claiming that democracy and prosperity to together, the TPP has been used to challenge everything from Net Neutrality to state sovereignty. Leaked documents from TPP permits corporations to sue governments for lost profits in international tribunals that bypass the US court system and to throw out the history of regulatory laws which were meant to help people and the environment.

As America gets closer to TPP, the lessons from NAFTA should be remembered. NAFTA called for a “just, sustainable and prosperous future.” The reality is that economic inequality has exploded. Since NAFTA was signed into law, the piece of the national income pie collected by the wealthiest 10 percent ballooned by 24 percent. The Top 1 percent’s share? Risen by over 58 percent.

So you didnt live in a border state. Which of course those are the first to be effected.
I dont know what kind of machine work you did but I did the high end stuff for NASA and medical companies.
Those jobs were very high paying right up until they started bringing in mexicans and training them.
I've said it here a half dozen times. I watched machine shops go from 3% hispanic to over 80% in twenty years...and the pay stagnated.
I was smart enough to start making other plans for income or I never would have been able to retire.
