a UBI would be cheaper and more effective than what we do now, economically. If you take the total amount we spend on anti-poverty programs and divide by the number of poor people, there should be no poor people!
Poor people aren’t lazy, they’re trapped in the current system. A UBI is not contingent on staying poor, so it would both lift people out of poverty and flatten out the benefits cliff. Of course, this means that the new UBI would be instead of existing programs, rather than a supplement, and not everyone agrees with that.
Finally, there is crude "realpolitik." Plenty of very wealthy people already live in the US, and the new economy is likely to create inequality on steroids. In a democracy, the poor and middle class have many tools to “negotiate” redistribution at gunpoint.
Yet I see huge amounts of work in other areas to be done, but no one is making moves to hire in these areas or create jobs in these areas. There is plenty of work to be done, we just have to shift and adjust just like was done in 2005 through 2016.1 in 6 men are out of work because of the loss of manufacturing jobs. thats the highest rate of "man unemployment" of any civilised country in the world

The self driving vehicles are a huge fail, and my worry is that how many must die before the idiocy is over ?? How much money will be wasted on the bullcrap before the investors get sued out of everything they have or the government gets sued for not stopping or regulating the bullcrap out of existance if it is a flawed concept or idea ??there's already SELF-DRIVING TRUCKS in Nevada and Colorado. even truck drivers have no future!

Due to greed of the companies working them.90 percent of truck drivers have some form of chronic disease, mostly related to fatigue. truck drivers spend 6 out of 7 days on the road
