The War On Everyday Americans: Why Jobs Are Disappearing, & why universal basic income is our future

The Trump administration proudly embraces the idea of deregulation, as if corporate regulations are the biggest problem faced by Americans, rather than the wrong those regulations were designed to prevent.

Deregulation increases profit for a company which is a good way to keep companies here, invite new companies into the country, good for investors and even employees in some cases, not to mention job expansion.

some folks support UBI on the right. they advocate getting rid of Social Security and Medicare in favor of UBI. i want to sway you to support UBI, and i easily will.

I said I had no problem with it if it replaces all our social programs because in the long run, it would probably save us money on top of all the other benefits. However I would never support it as an additional social program alone.

Not enough Americans have lawnmowers, in my America every garage will have a John Deer.

You're a legend in you're own mind , UBI is just pure lazy ass socialism.

.

a UBI would be cheaper and more effective than what we do now, economically. If you take the total amount we spend on anti-poverty programs and divide by the number of poor people, there should be no poor people!

Poor people aren’t lazy, they’re trapped in the current system. A UBI is not contingent on staying poor, so it would both lift people out of poverty and flatten out the benefits cliff. Of course, this means that the new UBI would be instead of existing programs, rather than a supplement, and not everyone agrees with that.

Finally, there is crude "realpolitik." Plenty of very wealthy people already live in the US, and the new economy is likely to create inequality on steroids. In a democracy, the poor and middle class have many tools to “negotiate” redistribution at gunpoint.
This threatens everyhuman being on the plane!

i'll sing the song again: markets without rules dont provide value to customers and work for regular american businesses, but they make the big guys as happy as pig in the mud!

we need an equality of sacrifice. the rich sacrifice. the poor sacrifice. the middle sacrifice.

SACRIFICE!

President Trump has given jobs back to Americans!

the better things look for Tesla, or companies that pattern themselves after Tesla, the worse they look for the future of American manufacturing jobs. Musk has made clear he’s aiming to do away with workers. He’s publicly referred to his goal of turning Tesla’s factories into “a machine that builds machines,” adding that he’s going to keep piling on the automation until the assembly line looks like “an alien dreadnought.” He promised last year to speed up his production rate by a factor of 20—not by hiring but by doubling the number of robots in his factories to nearly 1,000.
