Exactly the opposite. They were men who lived in a self-described age of reason and enlightenment and were optimistic about that continuing into the future.

Americas Founding Fathers were brilliant. This has allowed the U.S to at least have a high top end in terms of education and capability. With such a system, inherently those who are less than able will fall through the cracks since meritocracy is important.

You can be born poor and work your ass off and be creative enough to become a billionaire. Mediocrity though, usually ends in an outcome commensurate with their skill set.

America needs to resist the impulse to engage in corporatism as it will destroy your Founders success of their vision.

They weren't bright themselves. If someone said that Hillary should have become Trump's Vice President, Trump Biden's, and Harris Trump II's, would you listen to any more of his lamebrain political proposals? Deny it as much as you need to feel smug and comfortable, but that was in the Constitution the Founding Fodder presented. It reflected the political ignorance of the horse-and-buggy era.

Yes. They did. They wrote the first amendment in such a way that governments can't arrest you for saying things the government doesn't like, and it placed the 2nd Amendment where it was to make it obvious that the 1st amendment had teeth.
