The Supreme Court considers Trump's Tariffs

You haven’t been paying attention.

Trump and his mouthpieces have been peddling variations on that for months.

They have also promoted fantasies about tarrifs eliminating both income taxes and the national debt.

Of course, Trump is the last man on earth to be expected to do anything about the deficit.

I watched Lutnick peddle the income tax chimera on Face the Nation not too long ago. You could actually see the tongue in his cheek.
Are they saying that to SCOTUS?

What foreign nations have to pay to sell their products here is ZERO business of rogue sole judges

And Trump declared a phony “emergency” so he could start a global trade war.

The Court will decide it.

Explain how that is “management”.
That’s up to a court to decide if the Dem law is legal

He doesn't have the legal authority to impose tariffs.
That's questionable. The Executive has sole authority to conduct foreign policy, tariffs have become a proven tool in foreign policy. In today's world such matters must be handled faster than Congress can act. The Court should proceed on that basis.

This will be very interesting. Trump's wild, fluid, constantly changing, often punitive & random, impossible-for-businesses-to-plan-for tariffs -- which have played such a significant role in ruining longstanding global relationships -- are very important to him. He is just assuming that he can take the power to issue tariffs from Congress, and he is fully expecting "his" Supreme Court to let him.

This is a big deal. Will the Supreme Court fold for him? And if not, how does he react?

The tRumplings better hope they rule against him. It's really the only chance they have to hang on to majorities.

If they kill them the economy will improve almost immediately.

The ironic thing is that this could have been done so differently.

Optimizing trade relationships is great. But you don't do it like a ******* caveman. You're dealing with intelligent, experienced, professional, competent adults.

Of course, that's how he does EVERYTHING.

They would have gone against Trump and the Presidency quite quickly if it was as slam dunk as the whistling past the graveyard libs contend it is

Mac1958 has to post once in a while just to remind us how stupid we are and how brilliant he is
