If Trump is defeated, if the GOP loses control of the Senate -- both likely, why else are Republicans in such a hurry -- and Trump Republicans confirm Ginsburg's replacement, the GOP is likely to lose power for at least a generation.
CNN reports, "Republican Sen. Susan Collins on Saturday weighed in on the US Supreme Court vacancy, saying that she believes waiting until after the election is the right decision."
"Given the proximity of the presidential election, however, I do not believe that the Senate should vote on the nominee prior to the election," the Maine senator said in a Saturday statement.
Like all politicians, Collins is transparent. She gives token resistance to the Trump Republicans in the Senate to attract the liberal and independent vote.
Then she votes right along beside them.
The same is true of Sen. Murkowski of Alaska.
