AR-15's are not assault weapons

Wrong the definition of an assault rifle doesn't change cause you don't like it.
it also doesnt apply when you want it too,,

the 2nd A is specifically for weapons of war so this whole discussion is just letting the left control the narrative,,

so stop helping them,,

I agree, the term 'assault weapon' is a political designation that tries to equate AR-15s with real weapons of war that are illegal under current law. IOW, typical progressive liberal bullshit. Every gun is an inanimate object that requires a person to use it. Simple logic tells us that if a person wants to kill someone they will find a way to do it.
The AR15 was designed for war. The full auto capability was bypassed for civilian sales.

There is no such thing as an “assault rifle”. There are just rifles, and like any object can be used to assault someone.

The 2nd Amendment is all about weapons of war.
And killing people with them.
When the 2nd was written, there were no weapons of war, other than canons and such. A rifle was just a rifle which was available for all uses, including war. They didn't write an amendment for a class of weapons that didn't exist.

the military uses these designations for logistics and mission planning,, thats about it,,

the left picked it up to demonize the AR 15 so its easier to assault them,,

thats why they included all ARMS not guns, knives or swords

AR stands for ArmaLite Rifle..... not Assault Rifle.

I'll give a few minutes for the slack-jawed shitlibs to slurp the drool off their chins and digest that.

An assault weapon is capable of automatic fire. AR-15's are not capable of auto fire. No semiauto rifle without a switch to allow auto fire is an assault weapon.

Neither is an average commercially-manufactured AK-47, a Ruger Mini-14 or Mini-30, and M1 Garand or carbine, a Ruger 10/22, a Hi-Point carbine, a Russian Dragunov, a 50 caliber Barrett, or a Marlin Model 60 .22 rifle.

Those are all classified modern sporting or self-defense rifles, even if variants of some of them have been used in warfare. Hell, the IDF actually uses Ruger 10/22 semi-auto rifles to shoot protesters in the knees.

The velocity of the projectile makes it an assault rifle.

Assault rifles in the U.S. for sale to the general public are semi-automatic.
Velocity of weapon doesn't make it automatic. That makes you think Intercontinental ballistic missiles are assault rifles. Same with tank ammo or a simple hunting sniper rifle.

Your ignorance of firearms is showing. During the Revolutionary War, many rifles were made in government arsenals, and were made specifically for the military. The British Brown Bess musket was one of them for example. The only difference being, most military rifles could have a bayonet attached to them. Aside from that, there was no difference military and civilian muskets. Even the calibers were the same, .69 to .80 caliber.
