The racial wealth gap explained

I've tried many times to get this across to a certain segment of the board with very limited success. Please watch the short video and tell me if you see the problem or if you think it's wrong.

If you think it's incorrect explain why.

I won't waste my time, thanks.

You had a point? LOL!
he always has

If I inherit $17,000 from my grumpy old Aunt, how much of the racial wealth gap does that explain?
That is really comical. Grumpy Aunt, $17,000. Cash. After tax. I don't even think it has an impact on the wealth gap. Yet you want to focus on that. Come on.

From my own family history. We are talking hundreds of thousands of acres, GRANTED. Not purchased, GRANTED. Not inherited, GRANTED. Do you have any idea what kind of advantages that provides?

Nope, you like Grandpaw. It is 1935, he just got his 16th birthday present.

Don't tell IM2 or the OP.

That's outrageous! That's why poor IM2 has been whining (and poor) for decades!

He has tearing the hell out of a field, turning doughnuts. Grandmother looks at her friend and asks, "Who is that damn fool"? Now I want you to think for a moment. I guess, at the time, some 200 years after the land grants, Grandpaw's Dad owned thousands of acres. It was said he could walk all day in any direction and never get off his land. I mean over two hundred years of the wealth that was that land passed down, from one generation to the next, without any taxes paid on capital gains because of the step-up.

That was the people those newly freed slaves were up against. That is the root of the racial wealth gap.

Over 200 years, and how many descendants?

You've discovered why black people are on welfare and don't have any assets, it was you.

If you think it's incorrect explain why.

The difficulties experienced by blacks has one main cause. 73% out of wedlock births and no father in the family. This is the foundation of poverty crime and adverse childhood experiences.

It takes two parents and incomes to raise healthy well developed children into adults. Thats been proven by developmental psychology and data that ties high crime rates with blacks and single mothers.

Yeah well, life is not fair and cherry-picking the worst-case scenario to put up against the cherry-picked best-case scenario, is just a bunch of cherry-picking.

As far as what it means to us today, well Aesop took care of that about 2600 years ago in the fable about the Wolf and the Lamb.

How much did the average white person inherit in the 19th century? In the 20th century?

I heard you the first 3 times.

Generational wealth does not exist for most Americans. Even small inheritances usually occur later in life and have little effect on the "heirs."

What is your next talking point?
False inherited wealth is used often to create a business
