I think Trump’s rhetoric is the sole reason this discourse has become so heated, but the left contributes to it. The left is not being the bigger person. It’s been sucked into the politics of Trumpism and the result is aggressive reaction to people wearing MAGA hats and this aggression accomplishes nothing. The left should be the adult in the room as it usually has been in the past, but now the aggressive antics toward Trumpsters only makes this division worse.
Of course, I will say that this isn’t an actual equivalency. While antisocial as some on the left has been toward Trumpsters, these people haven’t been KILLED as we have seen of numerous examples from RW extremists. The problem is that leftwingers are only adding fuel to the fire.
