Current projections are for Obama’s first budget to post a record-shattering deficit of more than one trillion dollars.

I guess being a community organizer and a member of a Senate committee means Obama's never had to a do a budget before. Someone should tell him the goal is to balance that budget, or at least cut the deficit, not extend it. Even Sarah Palin knows that. I guess that's where executive experience comes in handy.

Let's say that I think that the tactic was successfully employed by the Dems and it will be interesting to see how they react to the same treatment. The Reps always get conned into coming up with alternatives and "being the better people," but that doesn't really seem to be a strategy for success. So, time to try something else.

Almost none of the legislation the Democrats attempted to introduce made it out of committee, therefore while the Republicans were in charge the years that Bush/Cheney had their hands around the throats of the Republicans (which still mystifies me...why did they put up with it?) the Republicans fucked over the country as much as they possibly could.
