The metaphorical wrecking ball analogy takes a physical form.

A consumer advocacy group is asking a court to step in and mandate the federal government hand over documents related to President Donald Trump's ballroom construction on what used to be the White House's East Wing.

Public Citizen filed a lawsuit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia claiming the Interior Department and National Park Service are violating public records law by not releasing the contract to build the ballroom.

We both know if a D defiled an historic building like the WH (not that one ever would) in order to construct a monument to his/her ego you'd never stop screaming about it. BTW, you'd be right to do so.

It’s not torn down…but I’m curious what law you’d think it would break if the president did it
So I guess it is OK to tear down the TRUMP ballroom since there is no law against it

/—-/ How petty and vindictive can you be? Denying a gift because of blind hatred.
Do you put it pass these demafasict? These are the same people that tore down monuments to Lincoln and Frederick Douglas

The Demafacist want to fundamentally change our country and they do that by attacking our history and institutions

Well, they certainly are not going to pull together private funds to tear it down and put it back the way it was, making foreign dignitaries gather in tents. No, they need to confiscate taxpayer money to do that.

I hope they get the plans, except for the classified underground foundations and new classified electrical/electronic infrastructure.

One of the best arguments to keep using tents for formal dinners and balls is that the upper crust would need to use porta-potties in their fancy gowns. I support the ballroom more if it is dual-use such as for Suzie and other essential WH staff to have fancy new screens and instant info on world events, a king-size situation room and not just a waste of space.

No, just taking down a building that was not approved by Congress, historical commissions or the public.
Tear it down and do it right
The next democrat president will be thinking about how much they will miss having the nice space for major White House events, but hey, gotta keep the random internet keyboard jockeys happy while foreign dignitaries gather in tents because the petty revenge mongers feed on their own bile.

Easy Peasy

Ask anyone in Mexico who is offended by the Gulf of America
Ask anyone in Canada who was insulted by Trumps 51st state taunts
Hey, even Greenland would chip in to tear down the Great TRUMP Ballroom

You'd better get right on that. When it comes to putting their money where their mouth is, most on the left disappear rapidly.

Yep, democrats would bilk taxpayers for $billions like for Solyndra, or the ACA rollout train-wreck, or maybe hire Somali architects to put in low income housing there. Here is the new democrat ballroom concept.

You forgot something. Lining up corporate and individual donors (who will no doubt get favorable treatment from Dotard in return) to pay for a monument to trump's ego glosses over the destruction of an irreplaceable historical building trump had no legal right to destroy.

What was "irreplaceable" about the already demolished East Wing? Hint: no one misses it.

Tear down a monument to Trump?
Most of the world will line up to do that

Anyone Trump has insulted will chip in

Yet another baseless charge created by your TDS-addled brain.

As long as its not taxpayer dollars knock yourselves out.

One fly in the ointment is that democrat donors are bailing.

Biden won't have a library, and the 2026 mid-terms have no democrat money.
