The "Make Billionaires Pay Act" by Crazy Bernie & Gruesome Gillibrand imposes a one-time 60% tax on wealth gains made by billionaires during corona

And dumb drooling idiots like you

Could the reason that you've never made anything of yourself in life, and expect someone else to pay your way, have something to do with the way you treat other people?

Do you really feel that anyone who questions your positions is intellectually inferior to you?

I've made a good success of my life, but I'm educated enough to know I did not do it all by myself. I am lucky to be part of a country that allowed me to prosper and thus I am not so greedy as to not pay back to the country. Unlike Republicans that think they did it all themselves and refuses to pay their fair share.

I question the intellectual inferiority of others when they are clearly inferior.

You didn't pay enough.

Mail a check for 50% of your net worth to the IRS.

No no that's his money he wants that and our 30 percent

Sounds like a real Ellsworth Toohey

Which is what an "Ellsworth Toohey" would say when he fails to win in an argument. I will do you one better, "You are not worthy my consideration."

Remember John Galt's secret society in Atlas Shrugged - they worship the symbol of the dollar sign $. It was even on their cigarettes.

You obviously didn't study it very hard. The significance of the 'dollar' in Ms Rand's fiction isn't intrinsic value. She recognized that currency was the only equal way that men and women in this world can exchange with each other. No one can expect from you anything for which they did not pay, and likewise, you should not expect others to pay you for what you did not provide them.

It's not the accumulation of money that she praised. Some of the richest characters in her fiction were the most evil. It was the integrity in how you earned those dollars.

Howard Roark (The Fountainhead) -- lived in utter poverty for most of his life and had to work as a quarry laborer to support himself when he could not find customer's for his architecture.

Gayle Wynand (The Fountainhead) -- built a media empire from scratch by appeasing the mob. Committed suicide when he realized that by compromising the to mob, he had lost control of everything.

Dagney Taggert (Atlas Shrugged) -- born to wealth, gave up everything to work as a laborer in return for staying in Galt's Gulch.

Hank Rearden (Atlas Shrugged) -- built his empire from nothing and gave it all away rather than compromise his principles.

Those are just a few examples of characters in Ms Rand's books exemplify strength of character over the acquisition of wealth.

Right, like I should feel sorry for billionaires like Bezos who only get to keep $40 BILLION DOLLARS instead of something like $70 billion. Such poor poor poor billionaires!
They didn't make that in cash. They're worth that much more because their controlling interests in the companies they built expanded. What this proposal would do is force these people to sell off their controlling interests in companies that they built because you've decided that the value of those companies is unfair.

If you democrats don't like how much the mega corporations have gained during Covid19, maybe you shouldn't have suffocated the small businesses that comprised their competition with the lockdowns.

Why do you think you' or anyone else is entitled to someone else's work and dreams?

This should be interesting

What makes you think you or anyone else is entitled to use and benefit from the infrastructures and markets of America, built by the blood and sweat of its citizens through over 200 years without paying your fair share of taxes?

What uneducated remark will you be coming back with? - This should be disgusting.
What makes you think you or anyone else is entitled to declare that a man's fair share of taxes isn't paid until he's given up control of what he's built to give you your pound of flesh?

Quite frankly, who the fuck made you the arbiter of what someone's fair share of taxes is, at all?

Stop saying “we can’t afford” Homes for All, Green New Deal or Medicare for All.

If we didn't spend trillions on endless wars and tax breaks for millionaires, we could afford to house our homeless, care for our seniors, and save our planet.

We suffer from greed, not scarcity
Do you think spending 22 trillion dollars on "The War on Poverty" and we still have poverty, that the money was well spent? Do you think the billionaires would stay or leave for some country that wouldnt make them taxed so much, like what we see going on in NY? Fuck some people are so stupid....
As a result of the War on Poverty, we have food assistance, rental assistance, the children's health insurance program, baby formula and food for poor mothers. Plus elimination of Red Lining (the charge the Trump family was found guilty of). So, yes. Money well spent.

And what is a pandemic good for if you can't make a tidy profit from it? Price gouging is the Conservative way!

These billionaires make well above 500 times the median wage they pay. And you want to coddle them and extend tax breaks to them while American workers get laid off and small businesses close. Why? Why are the billionaires more valued than the masses of American wage earners? Why is it more noble to make money off the money you already have than to earn wages for actual work performed?

Why is it more noble to make money off the money you already have than to earn wages for actual work performed?

If you make $10 digging a ditch, you can feel proud of what you've provided for yourself.

If you can make $10, 000,000 by hiring a thousand people to dig ditches, you can feel proud of what you've done to help 1,000 others provide for themselves.

You nor anyyone else is entitled.

Embrace capitalism, make something of yourself instead of expecting to be taken care of. All those infrastructures and markets are available for you also....unless you're too stupid or lazy to make your own way

My guess is the stupid part

And dumb drooling idiots like you always fall back to the rhetoric spoon fed to you by the rich. Did a billionaire like ugly Trump work a 1000 times harder or a 1000 times smarter than an average plumber Joe? Of course not, that would be impossible. His wealth was entirely determined by how much his daddy gave him to start with. Wealth determines wealth, and dumb drooling working class Republicans don't see that they are being used as slaves.
Most people squander their inheritances. On top of that, this is the tech age. There are shit tons of millionaires and billionaires rolling around right now who came from relatively humble beginnings. Wealth determines wealth is just something that people with no gumption tell themselves to justify not putting it all on the line and really trying to win at life. Even if people in power are actively oppressing you, it is NEVER useful to assume that you can only achieve that into which you were born.

Also, the fact that you don't find it fair that some people inherit fortunes and others don't, still doesn't give you the right to tell a dying man what he has to do with the wealth that he built during his life. If he chooses to leave it to his kids, that's his choice. Mind your OWN money.

I was just looking at a thread where you were calling people entitled for not agreeing with paying into insane levels of taxation. Yet here you are asking if Trump worked 1000 times harder or smarter than Joe the plumber, as though that ought to be required to justify what Trump has compared to what Joe has. Is there anything more entitled than believing that YOUR moral sensibilities ought to dictate who makes how much money? I mean, holy SHIT the lack of self awareness here is breathtaking.

Zero. The man is a sociopath.

No, we suffer from stupid leftists who can't even do basic math. Let's go with your idea and seize that wealth from Bezos, Musk, and Zuckerberg - a total of$93.1 billion.

The median home price in the USA is $250,000:

93.1 billion / 250,000 = 372,400 typical homes can be bought. There's an estimated 568,000 homeless people in the USA: Homeless people in the U.S. 2007-2019 | Statista

Right off the bat you're 200,000 houses shy, and that's before we can even sneeze at your healthcare and "save the planet" nonsense. Ok, maybe we can double them up. Now every homeless person has a house. Yay. But - who's paying the utilities? The taxes? The maintenance? Do we steal that too? Or do we ask the tenants to do it? And if they can do it, or are willing to do it, why the FUCK are we buying them a house in the first place? Why don't they just buy it themselves?

people like you, who hate poor folks, are xenophobes, they are homophobes, they are Islamophobes, and you are religious bigots...
I hate the poor, because they dont do anything to improve their lives, just sit there in their parents basements sucking off the government teats, then bitch and moan how fucked their lives are, while voting for the very people who keep them poor. Then some dumbass like you, start calling me names while i give over $60,000 a year of my income to taxes, yet you fuckers never say "thank you" for giving so much.

This is what i think of the poor.

Roughly 3 out of 4 American billionaires have seen a rise in their net worths. Elon Musk alone has tripled his net worth during the pandemic.

So you are crying about taxing Elon Musk 27 billion? Are you retarded?

Meanwhile since this attitude (started with Reagan) our infrastructure is crumbling. Who's got to pay for it now that Elon is getting his massive tax breaks? I'll tell you who. YOU dummy
