This bible-thumper adds one more interpretation to the list of motives for a shooting:

The gun-control crowd is spouting the usual mantra. The touchy-feely crowd is off and running again, while race hustlers are screwed on the baseball field shooting because black people were not a white guy’s target.

. . . there is a climate of hatred in the country against Christians and conservatives. The Republican victims today, he opined, were simply some of the latest to be targeted.

Gallups calling a Muslim shooting an attack on Christians can get by if you do not look too closely, yet he ignores the evidence in the one shooting where the motive is clear and indisputable but never mentioned. I do not know if Hodgkinson’s belonged to a labor union. I do know that his motive was pure labor-union-philosophy-cum Bernie-Sanders:

The shooter has been identified as James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois, a 66-year-old white male supporter of various far-left causes, including the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign.

Romanticizing political violence began in this country in the late 19th century with the Labor Movement. By the 1920s it began morphing into today’s political violence. Violence could have been avoided then, and now, had labor unions been been restricted to bargaining for wages —— not bargaining for vacation time, sick time, coffee time, maternity leave, pensions, work rules, and the rest of the garbage labor unions imposed on the country.

NOTE: I cannot prove it, but I believe that the growing number of Right-to-Work states played a major part in Hodgkinson’s decision to revert to violence. Hell, he probably fantasized about being seen as a union organizer of olde.

The less justified a man is in claiming excellence for his own self, the more ready he is to claim all excellence for his nation, his religion, his race or his holy cause. Eric Hoffer

In short: Hodgkinson was cut from the same cloth that turned true believers to violence in the early years of the Labor Movement.

The government did not stop violence more than a hundred years ago. They will not stop it today because too many of the governing class’ “constituencies” rely on it. Democrats promote and defend violence done by illegal aliens and United Nations refugees. Indeed, everything Bernie Sanders and the Democrat party preaches is worthless without the threat of violence. When threat is carried out Sanders, Pelosi, Schumer, and the rest of them are the first ones to grab a microphone and denounce violence:

. . . we see the radical left in this country engaging in rhetoric which can only be described as an open incitement to violence.”

Surprise, surprise! Hodgkinson’s sick mind incorporated every tenet in Socialism’s ideology including democracy:

In one Facebook post, Hodgkinson referred to President Trump as a “traitor” who has “destroyed our democracy.”

“It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co.,” the post concluded.

NOTE: Know this. Whenever you hear a media mouth refer to this country as a democracy they are guilty of nourishing a sickness in people like Hodgkinson.

Pastor Gallups got this one right:

The pastor said this process of demonization did not begin with Donald Trump.

7 things to do to survive when facing domestic terror

American Socialists/Communists demonized so-called robber barons long before Donald Trump was born. John Hodgkinson changed the words America’s earliest Socialists used, but the villains remain the same in his political philosophy. The evidence is overwhelming:

Video footage from an Occupy event in downtown St Louis, Illinois, in 2011 shows Hodgkinson complaining about being oppressed by the wealthy.

Hodgkinson exposed envy again —— this time violently instead of the usual methods. If you doubt me, print a list in the form of a sales slip for every item in Hodgkinson’s political philosophy and the total line will say ENVY:

Defining Democrat hatred of Trump in 10 words is much easier than is engaging in deep political analyses.

Nothing increases envy in losers more than a winner’s success.

Hell Hath No Fury Like Envy

Finally, irrespective of the pontificating coming from the usual suspects make no mistake about their motive:

Envy is the foundation for every government’s authority.

Parenthetically, individual liberties do not flow from those who have them to those who don’t. Emily Brontë (1818–48) had it exactly right when she had Heathcliff say:

The tyrant grinds down his slaves and they don’t turn against him, they crush those beneath them.

Ms. Brontë was describing the mechanics of envy. The slaves envy the master, but they punish those who are even weaker because the slaves want to become objects of envy themselves.

Envy will always insist that slavery for all is better than freedom for some. That unwritten rule is inseparable from the foundation for every government’s authority.

I've heard union thugs talking about burning down houses as a way to end management disputes with labor. "That's how it's done."

uhhhhmmmmmmmmm.... I believe Hodgkinson was a business owner. That would make him "Management", not "Labor".

The rest of this massive rhetoric-fart --- TL; DR

To talksalot: A far back as I can remember, the government punished a person for self-defense while violence done by thugs in the name of any liberal cause went unpunished. That is the worst threat of all.

To Pogo: Is this what you call management?

Hodgkinson, 66, owns a home-inspection business. Hodgkinson was a licensed home inspector from 1994 to 1997, when his license expired, according records from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. He also held a license from 2003 to 2016, but it was not renewed. …

If it was a business, he was running it out of a gym bag:

Former Alexandria Mayor Bill Euille told the Post he spoke to the shooter almost every morning at the local YMCA, which is near the baseball field where the shooting occurred. He said the man had been living out of his gym bag.

Who Is James T. Hodgkinson?

Who Is James T. Hodgkinson?

Kinda difficult to Doublethink a busness owner into "Labor" doncha think?
To Pogo: Enlighten me if you know something I am missing. He had no employees. He did the “work” by himself. He had no executive ability. He had a job like a licenced plumber. He managed no one.
That would make him "Management", not "Labor".
