I think she should go now, though, to the doctor; it's better to deal with such things on OUR terms, instead of waiting until/if she has an(other) attack.

Right...go now! I spent 1 a.m till 6 a.m
in the ER with the wife for kidney stones
a few years ago. No fun for anyone and way more costly.

i love my doctor now...he goes oh...sonogram (or whatever) then zaps them with a sonic thingy...gives me a sucker (suckers for adults) and sends me home

I never got a sucker. I was in the Military when I passed a stone. I ended up passing it in the bathroom of my room on the base. They gave me a little strainer to catch the frickin things but I didn't need it, I spent the whole time writhing in pain in the bathtub and couldn't have held the stupid strainer if I tried.
