Should President Trump send U.S. forces to Iran’s Kharg Island, it wouldn’t count as “boots on the ground” in the country, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) argued Tuesday

So that is how these people are gonna spin it. As long as the marines are on the island, they say no boots on the ground. Ha Ha… voters are gonna think differently.

All the boots on the ground in Iran right now are IDF …

… why should they get all the fun?

For all of you who apparently have no idea what's going on here, before all of this is really over, EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD will have boots on the ground, including civilians who better be well armed (pistol, shotgun, automatic rifle, & a lot of ammunition).

"What U.S. Marines Can Do to Help Reopen the Strait of Hormuz

The Marine Corps unit expected to arrive in the Middle East next week could help seize Iran’s strategically important islands near the Strait

President Trump is pressing aides and allies to find ways to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as gas prices rise. His best bet might be the U.S. Marine Corps.

The Pentagon has deployed the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, a rapid-response force of about 2,200 Marines, to the Middle East, The Wall Street Journal reported. The U.S. could use the unit to seize one or more of the islands off the southern coast of Iran to use as leverage or as a base to counter Iranian attacks on commercial shipping, according to former and current U.S. officials. The unit, aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli, is slated to arrive in the Middle East from Japan in just over a week.

Iran has essentially closed the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway through which about 20% of the world’s oil flows, with attacks on commercial traffic. The move has wreaked havoc on the global economy, driving up gas prices in the U.S. and elsewhere and posing a military and political problem for Trump."

"Retired Lt Gen Keith Kellogg called for maximum-effort US naval and air escorts to clear Iranian missiles, drones and mines from the Strait of Hormuz shipping lanes, comparing the operation to past “thunder runs” in Baghdad and Operation Earnest Will to test and defeat resistance.

“Put aircraft above this shipping lane. You have escort ships go there as well. Get a couple ships through there, and you’re good to go," he told NewsMax on Wednesday.

“The first couple of times you’re going to get some type of hostile action… there’s risk… but we have the capacity and the capability to punch through there," he added. “It’s sort of like what we did in Baghdad… after about the third or fourth thunder run, it was pretty easy.”

"I hate to say it, but it's, you know, kind of, my son told me, kind of telling your chief, it's sort of like Whack a Mole. Everyone is there. You just kill them. And I was asked that today on another program, just have to kill them all, and sooner or later, they get a break. You know, you start at a very senior level. You keep working your way down, and finally you're gonna have people say, I want to do the job," former 82nd Airborne commander said."

He said it would not be "boots on the ground in combat circumstances." It was in your own link:

“These 2,500 Marines, the Marine Expeditionary Force, would be to probably secure the island,” Sessions said on CNN. “The island is not, in my opinion, boots on the ground in combat circumstances, it would be to secure the facility.”
