The Iran deal:
A group of people whose word cannot be trusted have now given their word that they can be trusted. Pretty good deal right? The Germans did the same thing after World War One and we got World War Two. Maybe it's a language issue. These people only understand two words in english, obliteration and annhialation. Now they are getting warnings about keeping their word which they have never done and never will. I read Mad Magazine as a youth. I should have paid more attention to that humor which predicted this.

And both sides lie through their teeth. Neither side is able to keep their word. So, yes, we're left with perpetual war.

The Germans were reamed with the Treaty of Versailles.

If Iran had a "Second Amendment," this whole thing would be over by now, the Mullahs shrinking in disgrace, and Persia rebuilding its past glory.

Why does nobody point out that the entirety of this decades-long conflict is the perverse Shia Muslim belief that the nation of Israel cannot exist, because some 7th century megalomaniac said so? Other than for this diabolical "cause" Iran has no reason whatsoever to antagonize - let alone try to annihilate - the nation of Israel.

Religious fanaticism. Call it out for what it is. Islam is no more a "Religion of Peace" than professional wrestling is a legitimate sport.

The regime in Iran is a two-headed snake. One head is to strike Israel, the other is to strike the US. If they get uranium enriched pure enough for a working bomb their first test will probably be a launch. They are fanatics. If they can't hit Israel they will aim at a US friendly Arab country. You cannot deal with these people diplomatically.
