The Inconvenient Truth About The Economy: Democrats Do It Better

But wait. You are supposedly in the top .5%. If that is the case, and we take the far-left Democratic rhetoric at its face, you will be made much, much poorer. 400k was the mark the Democrats set as “rich”. Above and beyond that is just plain greed, so let’s just tax at 100% above 400k. Big talking Democrats need to put their money where their mouth is instead of just playing lip service that makes them look/feel like the ultra wealthy Hollywood elites.

Ultra-wealthy Democrats protect the ultra-wealthy. What they really want is the successful, but not ultra-wealthy, to pay for all their freebees and to satisfy their idealistic tendencies. Their bleeding heart quickly heals if their standard of living is forced to take a hit.
Both party's favor the rich & famous. Who does a better job for the under 75 thousand, ?
Personal freedom to run your own life, or what church or party you belong to or books to read or music to hear,
how you are required to think, got to give this to the independents. those who look at both sides.
Those who think, not just follow the propaganda pushed out Hard every day.

Stopping future green projects is a great idea and will save hundreds of billions.

Ending stupid green mandates at the state level is also needed, but if California and Massachusetts
want to eliminate CO2 and make their citizens pay more for electricity, Trump can't help them.
That's not where electric rates are going up the fastest.

Clinton got his budget without republican support.
Slick vetoed the bill, TWICE.

Only signed it when he faced an override, then he tried to take credit for it.

Oh, and if we had a surplus why did the debt go up?

Feel free to show the balanced budget in 1996.

Or run away.

You know that the budget was never balanced from a single budget year.
That it's a process of reducing the deficits over several years to get to a balanced budget.

The U.S. government last recorded a balanced budget (a surplus) for four consecutive fiscal years, from 1998 to 2001, under President Bill Clinton. Prior to this, the budget was last balanced in 1969 under President Lyndon B. Johnson. These periods marked rare instances in the last 60 years where federal revenue met or exceeded spending.

Why don't you show the states with the largest cost increases in 2025?
Why don't you? Since you mentioned California and Massachusetts.

Because here's the data:

As of late 2025 and early 2026, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Washington state saw the highest electricity rate percentage increases,

While several blue states like California, Massachusetts and Hawaii do indeed have some of the highest electricity rates in the country, federal data shows that electricity prices are now increasing in every corner of the US. In fact, some of the highest jumps since last year came from purple Pennsylvania and red Ohio

Here's the thing: All Presidents (and both parties) like to take credit for the Good Stuff that's happening in the economy, and blame the other guys for the Bad Stuff.

But when you try to pin them down and a Democrat is talking (like the OP) about how "things" are better under the Democrats, they can never point to anything that the Democrats have done to make things better in the economy.

More environmental protections? Higher taxes on The Rich? More bureaucracy? DEI? More illegal immigration? More rights for picked-on demographics? NONE of what they do can logically be tied to any tangible improvement in the economy. It is all costly, wasteful, or economically counterproductive.

It is similar to the fifteen minutes many years ago when the U.S. had a balanced budget under President Clinton. They were bragging about that for years and years, and yet they couldn't point to a single thing that Clinton or the Democrats had done to make it happen. Why? It was all Newt Gingrich, Republican Speaker of the House.

Any claim that Democrats make about improving ANYTHING in the economy is bullshit, and the proof is that they can never point to anything they have done to cause the improvement.
Results are results man. GOP actively makes things worse.

Your electric bill likely jumped in 2025 due to a combination of rising energy demand (especially from AI data centers and EVs), volatile natural gas prices driving up costs, inflation, aging grid infrastructure needing upgrades, and extreme weather causing higher A/C use, all leading to increased utility rates and higher consumption. Individual factors like new appliances or more people at home also play a role, but broad market forces are causing widespread increases.

You can’t even get historical income tax rates from me. You should probably start there. In the meantime I’ll keep paying low rates so that my savings can trickle down to working class republicans. Don’t hold your breath.

The result of a political/electoral system that is in desperate need of repair.

I don't see that happening, of course.

what needs repaired is the electorate.

what needs repaired is the electorate.
Voter ID not allowing illegals to be counted and used in apportionment, stop mail in ballots unless out of the country or disabled. Then democrats lose
