Trump is 13 months in office this term. We have been told by Democrats that the economy is headed for a recession. If that is true, is that Trump’s fault or Biden’s?

Here's the thing: All Presidents (and both parties) like to take credit for the Good Stuff that's happening in the economy, and blame the other guys for the Bad Stuff.

But when you try to pin them down and a Democrat is talking (like the OP) about how "things" are better under the Democrats, they can never point to anything that the Democrats have done to make things better in the economy.

The exact economic steps are many, and specific to the situation. There is no one size fits all, like republicans use of tax cuts for the rich.

Which is why they can't point out every step.

But a simple overall picture is clear. Democrats from Clinton, to Obama to Biden inherited a failed economy from George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Donald J. Trump, and turned it around.
Of course that means they left a booming (continuous economic growth with no recessions) economy for the republicans to screw up.

Which may also explain the fundamental economic difference.
Republican economic goal is to make the rich, even richer, which of course would drive up the stock market, while the other economic indicators, like unemployment, etc. not doing as well.
