If Israel is an ally of the U.S., how many Israeli boots were on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Do you know the difference between a partner and a dependent? Do you know the meaning of the word, protectorate?
Israel is and has been nothing but an enormously costly problem for the U.S.

I'm agnostic and I stand with the Government of Israel over the Terrorist organization known as Hamas and the other terrorist organizations in the are formed by Palestinians. They need to learn to be peaceful and deal with the Israelites or they need to die.
Because my entire family lives there (except my parents who moved from Israel to Canada)
Because I am a citizen of Israel (I have dual Canadian-Israeli citizenship)
Because I am Jewish, and I consider Israel to be my second home

Why is it the right thing to do? Haven't we done enough? Israel is a costly burden to the U.S.
What an incredibly ridiculous comment.
First off, Israel provided something way better than boots on the ground...intel.
Second, Israel is a tiny country with a tiny army that is basically being used close to full capacity. They cannot afford to send soldiers to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I'm sorry you don't feel like Israel is a viable ally, but stop shitting on other people decisions to support her.

'Boots on the ground' is not the only way to help an ally. Our troops in Iraq - and everyone else's! - were thankful that the Israelis had taken out Saddam's nuclear facilities.
As for OBL - he and the Wahabists are never going to be other than enemies of the West. Throwing Israel, Egypt, various nations in Europe under the bus will only change the order of the Wahabist maniacs' attempt to conquer everyone else: it won't derail nor postpone it.
If the West stands strong, that may give the many millions of decent humans who are Muslim a chance to overcome the Wahabist extremists.

My argument is with American citizens whose loyalty to Israel occurs as a detriment to their homeland. If you are Canadian my argument has nothing to do with you.
It's the right thing to do to be on the opposite side of those who want their religion to rule the world and are willing to kill you, me, and even themselves to make it happen.

Israel doesn't have millions of troops, and cannot send any to foreign Arab countries, it's too busy with it's own war.

If you disagree, tell us why the U.S. should be as supportive of Israel as it has been? Why is Israel's security important to the U.S.?

I'm sure if America had asked Israel to send in troops, Israel would've obliged. But in both Gulf Wars, America didn't want Israel to help out, thereby widening the conflict. In the First Gulf War, Israel took 39 Scud hits, which was humiliating for her--but America had asked Israel not to strike back at Iraq.

The U.S. does not need an "alliance" with Israel to defend itself against those people. In fact it is U.S. support of Israel which has caused all of our present problems in the Middle East -- which began with the 9/11 attack.
bin Laden warned us but we ignored the warning. And we continue to ignore it.
