Giving thanks to God for His provisions.
Leviticus23:34-42. On the fifteenth of this seventh month is the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the LORD. "You shall thus celebrate it as a feast to the LORD. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations... You shall live in both for seven days.

Is that how scripture refers to Donny Boy's ex -wives and good lady friends ?
Am beginning to like your Cult Religion .

No Trumping ( farting in the mother tongue) .
Lots of Trumpeting from the Trumpettes and Trumpets .

You’ve got your own holidays…

… we’ll keep ours.

Yeah, what is with OP? He comes across as if he’s Jewish, celebrating Jewish holidays, and then he says stuff like if you don’t believe in Jesus, you’re mistaken (although he takes a much more critical tact).

I’m thinking he’s one of those fake Jews for Jesus dudes.

when you say "he" who are you referring to?

I am a female. I have never stated, "and then he says stuff like if you don’t believe in Jesus, you’re mistaken (although he takes a much more critical tact).

However I do believe that if one does not believe in, and confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior they are headed to hell and not heaven. I always say if you do not believe and confess you're going to hell - not heaven because that is scriptural. That is what both God and Jesus say. Those who chose to be an atheist that's on them.

Just because a person doesn’t believe that Jesus was a deity of some sort doesn’t make one an atheist. They can be Jewish, for example.

See? That’s what I mean. You make a big deal about the Jewish holidays, as if they are your holidays, and then say stuff like Jews will go to hell because they don’t believe in Jesus.

So, what are you? A Jew for Jesus?

Is it your belief God does not keep His covenants, because God did make a covenant with the Jewish people. Through the ages the remnant of Jewish people lived through days when some turned to idols, turning away from God. The entire population suffered during these times, but during these times of suffering, were those who remained faithful and loyal to God. It is who they are, and how they live. God remembers his covenants, but it is a rarity when people do. All should be in awe of faithful Jews, and respectful of their practices and beliefs.

I believe God himself was in our midst, taking on the nature of man, to fulfill the promises he had made throughout scripture. He made a promise to Adam and Eve. When the Tribes were scattered and lost, He came to gather them back to Himself so that they might know Him again and return to loving Him.

In the Bible, Hebrew writing point to the New Testament as a whole, and the New Testament points right back to Hebrew scripture as a whole. I emphasize "as a whole" because I am not a fan of taking fragments (a verse here, a passage there) of the entirety of scripture in an effort to "prove" something. Because of this entirety, I do believe Jesus is who he said is--one with God. And as God will never break His covenants, He will never withdraw His love and care of the Jewish people who have been (and are) loyal, faithful, and loving towards Him.

I've said this before: Christians love the Word of God (Jesus), brought to them by God, Himself. Jews love the word of God, scriptures given to them ages before Christianity. Both people love God with hearts, minds, bodies, and souls. This love of God brings us closer together than perhaps we can truly fathom. However...Christians should understand this mutual love--and God's covenants--well enough to ever think of Jews in hell. Hell is separation from God, and Jews have in no way separated from God. I hold the belief they never will be.

you have been blocked forever, I don't care to entertain your lies. No one said Jews will go to hell. Jews have been blinded by God from believing until God opens their eyes. I did say those who are Gentile believers such as us... our eyes have not been blinded from the truth about God and Jesus. I no longer care to discuss anything with you as you add in your lies.

This is our second day of The Feast of Tabernacles.

So you obviously have contempt for Jews, so why are you making it like you celebrate Jewish holidays? You did the same thing with Rosh Hashana.

There is something very odd going in with you.

It’s not YOUR holiday! It’s a Jewish holiday!

You don’t get to talk about “our holidays” as if you’re Jewish, and then go on and on about how Jews have been blinded by Gd and they need to believe in Jesus, blah, blah, blah.

You are not Jewish.

While recognizing this is a personal matter between you and Lisa, it was also posted publicly.

The printed word cannot always convey the respect intended, but I do hope you understand I mean this respectfully. It is not you who should be blocking Lisa, who is so good about introducing and presenting her faith here in the religion forum. It is she who should be blocking you, because seriously, some of how you present Jews, Jewish holidays, and even God (which often comes across as you (but not Lisa) distorting this to 'G-d') is cringe-worthy. Think about it. Christianity has always boldly and enthusiastically proclaimed the name of God to all. Judaism is about a people set apart, who protect the name of G-d from any possible desecration even on written material. Christians exuberantly welcome non-Christians into Christianity. Jews caution those who wish to convert to Judaism. Attempting to be what one is not never works--nor comes across--well.

I was/am a godmother to a young lady who converted from Judaism to Christianity--and with my blessing converted back/returned to Judaism. I was also blessed by knowing someone (an atheist Jew) whose first language was Hebrew and was fabulous in teaching the Bible from an ancient Jewish culture perspective. He truly made the story of Judaism come alive.

Bringing the more modern Christianity into Jewish holidays (Christianizing Jewish holidays) is not welcome.

Think about it. As a Christian here, I am sure you have noted that every Christmas season in trot the atheists with gleeful stories about Christians "really" celebrating Saturnalia. This is comparable to one's birthday falling on a holiday (let's say Valentine's Day) and having the clueless telling that person they aren't truly celebrating their birthday, they are "really" celebrating Valentine's Day. That is cluelessness at its worst, thinking two events cannot possibly fall on the same day.

While you (and this goes for me as well) may have the intent of being a supportive, benign presence in regards to the Jewish faith, sensible Jewish people have good, even great reason, to thoroughly ensure they are not dealing with a wolf in sheep's clothing creeping around the edges of their faith.

Thank you so much for this.

As you obviously can discern, I pointed out the disconnect between Crossbody discussing “our” (as in Jewish holidays), and then freely demonstrating his contempt for those of us who do not believe in Jesus. He is indeed a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

He reminds me of an experience I had when I was around 17 or 18. I went to a teen dance at the synagogue, and met a seemingly nice boy. He took my phone number, and then called a day or so later to invite me to “a concert.”

Well. I was one confused teenager when at the “concert” - which turned out to be a Jews for Jesus type thing - the people on stage, along with the congregation, started praising “Yeshua.” I had no idea who this Yeshua was, as I was raised in traditional Jewish family, and we never praised anyone other than Gd.

When I got home and told me parents about the weird service and asked my parents who Yeshua was, they were shocked - and then explained it was another name for Jesus. We were ALL upset by this wolf who was going around to teen dances at synogogues, inviting unsuspecting Jewish girls to a Jesus event, and under false pretenses. We told the rabbi about it, and we never saw the guy there again.

Anyway, I hadn’t thought about this incident in decades, until I came across Crossbody - with his fake celebration of Jewish holidays.

Thanks again, as always, for being so understanding and respectful of my religion.

Nice thoughts but hardly realistic. God says that we love him by loving others. The Jews have no love for non-Jews, even less for Christians.

That has never been my experience. Jews have been very cautious around me, but never hostile, never hateful or unloving. Simply cautious, and the more I learn about Jewish history, the more I understand this caution.

There’s no “our” where you’re concerned, Sukkot is a Jewish holiday, and you have bitched about Jews being blinded by Gd and not believing in Jesus.
